This bathroom renovation is such a fun transformation, we’re thrilled to share it with you here today.
Sometimes when working with clients, it’s a bit of a challenge because with older homes, we’re piecing things together. We’re working within the confines of obvious things, like budget, combined with a client’s preferences, along with some unseen challenges as well. But it’s also inspiring, because not everything is a quick flip with zero effort where everything is changed, a-la the fancy tel-y-vision. We like a good puzzle piece within an existing blueprint. Sometimes we totally rearrange, and sometimes it makes sense to switch out a few things for a nice refresh. Today, we’re here to show you one of those projects: Bye, brown. A bathroom refresh.
This sweet couple was kind of over it when it came to their bathroom. The previous owners of the home, were very fond of brown. I think very fond might be an understatement. So they understandably wanted to change out their flooring, but it was a bit of “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” situation, because once you change out the flooring, you kind of have to work with the cabinets, and maybe it would help the space to also alter those just a little. And if they do the cabinets, maybe the tub should definitely go because it was kind of large and invasive with potential water damage underneath because wood… see where we’re going with this? They’d also already upgraded their shower, so the challenge was working within those requests, and then the project soon unfolded into this…
And they’re not sad about it. It’s crazy what some changes can do to freshen up a space!
It was time for that big jacuzzi tub to go. It took up too much space, and the wood around the tub made everyone a little nervous about age and potential water damage. So we swapped it out with a new fabulous soaking tub, which freed up the room.
And we loved making everything so efficient with some wonderful Jeffrey Court tile.
Their Hudson Carrara Mosaic was the perfect tile for the floor, giving it a fresh, spa-like feel.
We complemented it with this awesome Potter’s Grey ceramic for a proper backsplash that really infused the space with character.
We love the way everything just really came together for this space!
It changed the entire vibe of the room.
Our clients also upgraded their vanity and storage situation, re-doing their doors, and adding different vanities with more storage for the space.
We love how light and airy it feels!
These floors are a huge game changer.
We try to stay positive about old finishes, even when the current owners didn’t choose them. But Game Stop called. They want their flooring back. So we returned it. ;}
The Jeffrey Court tile made such a difference in this space – and the way it feels under foot is even better!
So satisfying.
Their tub is so fun in their new bathroom, and keeps it light and airy!
We loved centering it with a fresh new chandelier from kichler for some simple modern elegance.
This little view is so much fun!
We love this simple faucet + mirror combo – since they were using different parts of their existing bathroom, this was a piece that matched the original tub faucet.
Such a satisfying before and after!
We love the fresh look and feel.
Maybe a foreshadowing as to how 2021 will go?
I’m looking for happy little signs, everywhere.
We think it matched that existing shower tile seamlessly!
Thanks so much for tuning in, as always.
