Y’all. We’re back. And on the final week of purging!
Week 12, we never thought we’d see you. But here we are.
Confession: Sometimes, finishing up a series feels just as good as the purge itself.
Ever since adding a little curb appeal to our home, we’ve really really reaheaaally enjoyed those windows in our garage door. It’s kind of ridiculous what a difference windows can make. The entire thing, we’re sad to say, was out of control for a while in the land of organization.
We would go through cycles of chaos. Organization. Chaos. Organization. This is how we made big changes in our home while still living there – it gave us a place to work and stash. Thus the cycles. And we struggled with finding a system that really worked in this space.
We purged and simplified and changed it all up. Since our home is officially on the market, we had good intentions that fell a bit by the wayside. Being completely honest, we have a few shelves in our garage, but really wanted to take it to that level that we loved and felt like sharing. And that never happened because our house is for sale.
The fine line of when enough is enough in a home… because it’s never done, and we could keep going. It’s weird, really. The never-ending circular conundrum of good intentions vs. real life.
So we added some curb appeal, purged, and have some good pegboard action going on with a few shelves.
Hurray! We can actually find things!
We can honestly say that when we relocate, the garage/work area/storage section will be the very first thing we do. Because this space can affect everything else for us. No more where’s my drill/hammer/screwdriver mania. It’s kind of served as our studio/catch all with all our other projects over the years. And even if you’re not doing anything big in the DIY department, it can be an important space for anyone when it comes to yard work, gardening, and all the little things that seem to find their way into the land of garages.
So today, since our garage is kinda well, a garage, we thought we’d share some of our very favorite inspirational ones, with great links to read all about it, instead. So without further ado, a few things we love about organized garages: Clever garage ideas.

That file cabinet garden tool holder is awesome. Our garden tools are a mess. I bet I could find an old file cabinet on the cheap…
I love organization. I’m just not organized.
Thanks for the inspiration!

Did you skip week 5, the dining room, or did you just not put it on the list? It’s not in the series overview. I’ve been reading the whole Lazy Gal series recently, it’s great stuff đ

Hey Jasmin! Thanks so much for pointing it out – apparently it got lost in the shuffle by accident! It can be found in the series now, or here hope that helps!
