We’re sprinkling in a little Christmas to our mantel, even though it’s right before Thanksgiving!
Once upon a time we were purists with waiting and stuff, but then we realized that with our jobs, it’s honestly less stressful when we go ahead and get started with a little festiveness around our house. It makes it a little cozier, too. So today, we thought we’d share some fun ideas for our Christmas mantel!
We recently finished our addition on the back of our house, so we’re thrilled to bring in a little festive to our new fireplace.

We covered our usual little spot {when not in use for the television} with this really fun chalkboard. And I thought it was the best spot for transitional art and the big fat Christmas Countdown, which our kiddos get so excited about all things holidaisical apocalypse. We love that it’s magnetic too, and you can switch it out again in the summer! We think that a classic chalkboard never gets old.
We also loved bringing in some fun color with our handmade tassels + stockings {from balsam hill}.
We loved topping it off with color and these colorful garland pieces + bunting, along with a natural touch from here.
We love the way it all came together for some festive fun!
So here’s my question, are you guys traditionalists, or do you mix it up every year in the decor department?
AND do you decorate a little before Thanksgiving and cheat like us, or wait until the bitter end?
We’ll be digging out a little more this week since the kids are so excited. We can’t wait!
As always, let us know if you have any questions or if we can shoot you in the right direction for something.
In the meantime, check out the rest of our friends who are participating with their pretty mantels!

That is the happiest Christmas mantel I’ve ever seen! So fun!!
I love this SO much!! That chalkboard is amazing!
I love this mantel! The colorful garlands are so fun! I put up our tree, but nothing else until after Thanksgiving šš
I love all the colour and your countdown to Christmas. It sure is creative and cozy! Thanks for sharing on the blog hop.
At our house fall decorations stay up through Thanksgiving and Christmas never comes out before Thanksgiving! We take down Christmas as part of our New Year’s Day celebration so Christmas is always up for more than a month. That’s plenty long for me…
