We have to admit, we’re pretty stoked about this kitchen reveal today! It might be one of our fave ever before and afters!
When our sweet clients contacted us about updating their kitchen, we were more than thrilled to help. When they purchased this house it definitely had some not-so-customized vibes. They were ready to bring it into 2020, and let it reflect their family.
They gave their walls and cabinets a fresh coat of paint, replaced the countertops + backsplash. The new lights are pretty great, too. This is another example of how new-ish cabinets {that you feel kinda guilty about totally ripping out} can have a fresh finish and a new lease on life when they’re in decent shape.
Those countertops, though! Our sweet client chose a beautiful quartzite. The movement in the stone combined with the pretty island really brought out the blue undertones and charming detail.
The fabulous tile on their backsplash is one of our all time faves: Jeffrey Court’s Allegro White Fan Ceramic Tile.

We just love this angle and how things are all light and bright! This sweet family has a pool and they do a lot of entertaining in the warmer months. We know how that feels and how important it is to have a great space that works hard for you. We love how the entire aesthetic changed with this little revamp.
Before, their hardware was a cooler stainless steel feel. We loved switching it out for a little warmth with a few curves, too.
The Octo Pull from D. Lawless was the perfect accent to the space. We’ve used D.Lawless for years, and adore their options and prices. Be sure to check them out for all of your hardware searches! So many great options.
One of our very favorite areas of their kitchen was the kitchen nook transformation. Our clients were amazing because they were willing to have fun with the project and trust us in the process. We think they were as thrilled with the outcome as we were.
To fully utilize this space, we had a banquette custom built to form an L-shape and more of a cozy area for all things dining.
It also leaves plenty of space for visitors to exit and enter from the pool, along with providing more storage for the kitchen. Winning all around.
We updated their eat-in area of the kitchen by adding a fresh table, chairs, and the icing on the cake was this awesome fun new chandelier from Kichler lighting.
The fab wallpaper is part of what made the kitchen changeover so fun. Available here.
The cushions were sewn by a company called Hearth and Home {found via etsy, here} -I liked their work so much they’re currently making one for a new bench in our kitchen.
The tabletop is always a great opportunity to show off color and personality – and tie more of the design in. We were happy to dress it up with some fun shots of color and character with these finds.
large plates • small plates • placemats • silverware • glasses • napkins
We loved bringing together cool accents with warmer tones of brass in all of their lighting and hardaware.
The pendant over their sink is from the fabulous Kichler Lighting.
We paired this with their Devin Pendant for plenty of extra lighting and lots of amazing character.
We accented their countertops with simple additions that added smart storage.
Canisters from here + here – similar vase for flowers can be found here.
Wooden bowl from here.
We loved accenting the upper cabinets with a diversity of objects repeated multiple times. This will add lightweight storage to the top of the cabinets, and also bring texture and interest to the cabinets over head.
We loved that these little plants brought in so much to the space
As well as these baskets, here + here.
The fabulous barstools are from here.
We ADORE the way that the orange stitching gives a playful vibe, and ties in with the rest of the space. It’s all in the details.
The blinds are from our very favorite source for windows, Select Blinds. Their hint of blue brought in a great modern touch, and they provide plenty of much needed shade in the later afternoons. Their finish is Antigua Taupe. We love them so much, we used a different version in our own recent addition.
It’s amazing what a new countertop and fresh coat of paint can do!
Our favorite source for faucets and sinks and everything else you could possible need for a kitchen or bath redo {and beyond} is Hausera. They are a great resource for anything your home would need in that area.
We’ll be sharing more about this awesome company soon, but similar sink + faucet can be found here.
And another glimpse at a before and after…
So gratifying and fun! We love this space for our clients and their sweet family.
Thanks so much for tuning in on all the details today.

The kitchen is so fresh and lively. My favorites is the breakfast nook ,the blinds and the stools. The before was too dark but it had pretty backsplash but, I didn’t like it with the black cabinets.

Beautiful kitchen makeover 😍! I was wondering what color paint you chose for the island cabinets? Thank you!

Hey Bridget! I’m sorry I think I missed your original comment. I believe it’s something similar to Sherwin Williams Stream. SW 6499. I hope that helps! Thank you.
