When our sweet clients were ready for a bathroom redo, we were thrilled that they called us! Because we love a good before and after. Before, their bathroom was fine but the typical builder’s grade bath, and it just wasn’t serving their family anymore. They definitely wanted something to fit their personality. So we loved giving this space an update that feels like a trip to the spa!
Their primary suite bath works hard for them and per the usual, their kids had taken over the space, too. It’s how you roll with young kiddos, we know, but we wanted it to feel like more of an escape for them.
We loved bringing in just the right elements to lighten and brighten and bring on the soft color!
It’s crazy how opening up this shower area made their space seem so much bigger! The initial imposing wall was removed, and glass taken to the same height of existing doors in the room to keep the space intentional. Plumbing was moved out of the center wall, to the left side. Tile was taken all the way up… an extra step sometimes missed to give a bathroom that extra polish.
Their bath feels like more of a retreat now! We love the way it turned out for them. We created a two wall pockets for more storage, and lost the shower bench to open it all up. The penny tile contrasts beautifully with the wall tile, and we loved adding color to those walls to tie it all together.
Drop-in tubs can make a space feel smaller when it’s a large one in a main bath. It felt good to open all this up and add some character to the space.
The finishes in champagne bronze brought in a fresh contrast to all the white and blue. It gives it a nice punch.
Their vanity is truly one of our favorite parts. This one had limited storage, and wasn’t serving them well at all. As a hardworking space, they needed options. So we were happy to help design one to provide more storage and style.
It’s so satisfying to get rid of those partial overlay cabinets for something better fitting and well designed in the space. This one is longer and provides a fabulous towel tower, as well as clever storage to actually serve its purpose.
Big, open cabinets can be kind of useless in the primary bath, so we were thrilled to divide it up with drawers in a way they could actually use.
Here’s another view of that before…
And the after with a prettier foot and toe kick, to boot.
Their shower just sparkles now, doesn’t it?
We just love the way it all came together to feel more like them!
We truly can’t decide what we like more in the space.
All in the details…let’s talk sources:
Lighting:
We always love Kichler for the win.
But this fabulous chandelier is a crowning jewel to the space. The Abbotswell chandelier was oh so perfect for something over this tub! We love the way it pulled it all together.
Vanity lights:
For all things vanity lights… these couldn’t be more perfect. We adore the look of the Audrea light and the way it combines glass with this brass for a bit of a modern take on these really fun lights. Because they put it so well, from their site:
With a clear crystal tube as its centerpiece, the Audrea™ collection 3-light bath light combines a popular Natural Brass finish and other materials for maximum visual effect. The look draws on the popularity of Lucite accents found on furniture, hardware and other home décor pieces.
Faucets:
In the shower, we loved combining two shower heads for a more spa-like experience and lots of variety with their showering options. For their wall shower head, we chose the H2Okinetic® 4-Setting Shower Head With UltraSoak™ in Champagne Bronze.
From their site:
H2Okinetic® showers are powered by an innovative technology that sculpts the water into a unique wave pattern, giving you the feeling of more water without using more water and creating a shower with more warmth, coverage and intensity. So go ahead and indulge, because now you can enjoy the feeling of more water without using more water. UltraSoak™ Spray mimics dense natural rainfall to provide an intensely saturating shower.
And we love that it’s easy to clean up, too!
Using advanced water-sculpting chips, they generate a cascade of water drops that saturate and soothe in a shower that feels like more water. Step into the storm and step back out feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. While other products may gather unsightly mineral build-up over time, Delta soft rubber Touch-Clean® spray holes allow any mineral residue to simply be wiped away for an instantly refreshed look – with no need for soaking or the aid of chemical cleaners.
We combined it with an overhead shower head for that luxurious spa-like feel, their H2Okinetic® Single Setting Shower Head With UltraSoak™ In Champagne Bronze
UltraSoak™ Spray mimics dense natural rainfall. To do so, they use water-sculpting chips to generate water drops to essentially, simulate a storm. It’s like showering in the rain- a . They also resist mineral build up over time, and can easily be wiped down without using chemicals for cleaning, in the future.
For the tub filler, we went with Delta’s Dorval line.
It’s “Inspired by the feminine lines of French architecture and the regal stature of German castles, the Dorval Bath Collection balances grace and power in this modern take on new traditional design.”
We love that it comes with its own handle, to ensure easy clean up and spray. And with their technology, you know it’s so easy to clean!
These gorgeous faucets are a part of their matching line, too. Again, we went with DORVAL™ to tie it all together, in their two Handle Widespread Bathroom Faucet In Champagne Bronze.
I can honestly say, these photos just don’t do it justice! Again, from their site, I just want to share one of my favorite reasons for using all things Delta:
Delta® faucets with DIAMOND™ Seal Technology perform like new for life with a patented design which reduces leak points, is less hassle to install and lasts twice as long as the industry standard*. Designed to look like new for life, Brilliance® finishes are developed using a proprietary process that creates a durable, long-lasting finish that is guaranteed not to corrode, tarnish or discolor. Delta WaterSense labeled faucets, showers and toilets use at least 20% less water than the industry standard—saving you money without compromising performance.
Tile:
Of course we’re smitten with Jeffrey Court for the win!
We loved combining this beautiful Cotton Blossom with pretty blue penny tile + ceramic vibes for the rest of the space.
This gorgeous tile sparkles oh so prettily with a subtle, mottled look. It pairs well with so many other options! We the way these effortlessly pair together. It’s so pretty, it shines!
Doorknobs: They also polished up the space by upgrading their old doorknobs with these fun finds.
Paint colors:
Becuase I know you’ll ask!
The walls are SW Lullaby, and the vanity is SW Blustery Sky. These colors all play so well together!
Hardware:
We finished off the pieces with their elegant beaded knob in champagne bronze + matching pulls
They’re our go-to for all things hardware, and always have such beautiful options! We adore everything they have to offer.
At the end of the day, the only important thing was really just all about getting Charlie’s approval. I think we did our job. ;}
As always, let us know if you have any questions and we’re happy to shoot you in the direction needed.
Have an inspired day!
This bathroom is absolutely drop dead gorgeous! I am using it as inspiration for my bathroom. I have a couple questions. For the cotton blossom tile, what color grout did you use? Sometimes it looks white and sometimes it looks light gray. We have a few more rows to go and then we can grout. I need to order more tile 🙂 Also, do you have a link to the vanity or is it custom?
Thank you so much!!!
Hi Eve! Thank you so much for stopping by. The grout color is a very light gray – easier to clean later. I hope that helps. ;} And the vanity is a custom design with a custom company. So excited for you and your bathroom!
