Fall is rolling in and we’re clinging to the final days of summer, but we decided to kick off this week with a simple DIY: a fall acorn wreath!
It’s simple and elegant and a little modern, too!
We’re not quite ready to go all-in on fall. So this is an easy nod until we break out those pumpkins.
It’s a great alternative to classic wreaths, too… and we love the hint of metallics!

Here’s what you’ll need:
wreath form
acorns – gold + silver
white paint {if you want to give it a coat}
burlap ribbon + scissors for hanging
glue gun
We gave this puppy a white coat of paint, and we were ready to begin!
Getting started
First things first, when it was dry, we wrapped a bit of that burlap ribbon at the top. This will help you hang it later, without interfering with your pattern – and we’ll have a quick how to on that below.
We made sure all of these would fit by alternating, and placed the gold ones facing in, with the white ones facing out.
And once they were all the way around, we glued them! Tada!
It really is that easy.

We love the little bit of extra bling it brings to our outdoor side entrance!
So simple and sweet!
We still can’t believe this was once upon a time the outside of our house, before we took on our total rehab with the money pit.
Goodbye, crusty old garage.
Hello, fabulous basement!
Such a pretty, simple diy fall acorn wreath!
For hanging:
We simply take the top of the burlap and place it at the top of the door, where it closes. Then glue with the hot glue there before looping it back around to the other side. This way you can remove it later, and no one can see it. Easy peasy rice and cheesy.
