So here’s the before shot of that Duncan Phyfe. The one that just so happened to be an easy score off of the great Craigslist. My super amazing talented friend Tiffany, agreed to take on this project for me, as I have way too many things on my plate right now {and let’s just be honest, upholstery is a fine art I have no desire to try to accomplish. I would end up buried in piles of fabric, screaming and crying and stapling my fingers to things.}
This little guy had a ton of beauty and potential. But his current granny fabric had seen better days. Layer after layer of better days.
And here we are now:
TADA! Isn’t he a beaut!? We just got good ole Duncan back, and I am so impressed with Tiffany’s work, I kind of had to immediately spaz out and post these photos.
The detail on this sofa makes it a keeper. I’m kinda smitten. Does my friend have some mad skillz or what? {Psst: Be sure to check her booth out, if you live in the Alabama area, and are on the prowl for some fine antiques + beautiful reupholstered pieces…}
This is the last sneak peek I’ll show of the room before it’s finito in a few weeks. It has a long way to go, but I can’t wait to share the fabric I chose for including those great splashes of color, art for the walls, and revamps of some oldies but goodies. {Yes, we are tired!}
I do believe ‘ole Duncan is going to be a nice new fit in the Mills household. Even if the Carebear vomit, was not. ;} Happy Thursday, everyone!
Oh my gosh, it’s gorgeous!! LOVE!
Well, love the lines of that magnificent piece and the detail on it, too. With the solid fabric you get to appreciate it even more.. great find! Look forward to seeing the room.
GAH!!!! I’m in LOVE with “new” Duncan. Fabulous make-over. Enjoy!
WOWSA! Seriously. A.MAAAA.ZING! SOOO jealous!
Duncan sure is handsome! I bet he’s going to get some super cute accent pillows real soon!
I need a like button. 😉
Awesomeness… I love this sofa, we’re on the search for a new one ourselves… something like this would be perfect!
I have a beautiful white Duncan Phyfe couch that I am interested in selling. Please let me know via e-mail if you are still interested in byuing one. At that point I could send you pics.
I am looking for a Duncan Phyfe sofa and especially interested in white (since my plan is for the living room i am designing to be dark wood, white with aqua accents.
Is your white sofa still available. What type of fabric is it covered in (damask, cotton, brocade, silk etc).
does it have the traditional clawfeet? Are they covered in brass or some other metal?
I love in Atlanta Georgia. where is the sofa located and how much $$ are you asking for it?

Wow! What a transformation. I can’t wait to see the fnished room, but just the little glimpse of the newly upholstered couch and white wall is already looking so much lighter and airier. ( And so glad you didn’t have to help wth the dreaded reupholstering.)

What kind of fabric did you use on the Duncan Phyfe? Is it Muslin?
Hey! It was a linen – hope that helps!
