We decided to pull together these really fun no sew pumpkins for a little addition to all things fall decor in our home. These are so easy to make and simple for fall! We love that they’re fun and colorful and also give that cozy fall vibe.
They’re like little shots of happy to work in with our other pumpkins + we love their fun vibe.
The best part? These are no sew and oh so easy.
Want to make some of your own?
Here’s what you’ll need: {contains affiliate links to support our shameless pumpkin habit}
• yarn of any colors
• scissors
• small tree branch
• styrofoam ball + knife + cutting surface
• strips of fabric
• hot glue gun
Take your styrofoam ball + slice off the top + bottom. This will give it that great pumpkin-y shape.
Also, any fabric will do, but take strips of fabric roughly gauging the length of the styrofoam ball, and pre-cut into strips.
Next, take your sliced styrofoam ball, and place a little tree limb in the middle.
This will be your ‘stem’.
Place about four pieces symmetrically all the way around the ball, gluing at the top and bottom as you go.
Leave gaps in the middle parts to place more fabric for that “pumpkin” look. If you gauge it correctly, you’ll need eight strips per pumpkin.
For your next four set of strips, fold the top part in a small triangle at the top, securing it with hot glue.
Place each folded piece at the top of the gaps, working your way around the stem at the top.
This will fill in the gaps. You can see where I started to fill it in, below.
When you’re finished, your fabric pumpkins should look like this.
{You can see where my test pumpkin was, on the right.} You can leave them like this, or move on to adding a little color! You know what we’re in favor of.
This is where the multi colored yarn comes in! Take whatever color you like, and wrap it around.
I topped each one off with a tassel on the top for an extra touch of fluff. {They’re super easy to make, just check out the tutorial here.}
Then you’re finished with these really easy additions, and ready to enjoy!
The kids especially love the easy fun they bring into the space. I caught them stealing some and trying to put them in their rooms.
We just love all their fun, fluffy colors!
Hurray for some easy fall projects that are fun to make.
I don’t know about you guys but creating is forever my sanity.
As always, let us know if you make some. We’d love to see what you make.
Happy making + Have an inspired day!
