We were so excited when our Greenworks chainsaw arrived the other day, we knew we had to try it out at a friend’s house.
There was a fallen tree branch that needed some cutting, and by we, I mean me, because frankly, chainsaws are terrifying and heavy. If you’ve been reading for a while, you know I’m not the kind of woman who is all, “I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR!” And then I make weird ARRGGHHH-like pirate sounds and pretend to be tough whilst beating my chest and taking on the construction of a skyscraper all by myself.
I’m me and I won’t pretend to be something that I’m just not. I’m jealous of skyscraper building pirates but I don’t have it in me. Honestly, I’m more like worst case scenario girl.
I can’t take enough precautions. In all fairness, I’m not afraid to take on things but usually, I’m a bigger fan of sticking to my talents. I’m old enough to know my strengths and weaknesses and not be shamed for them, thankyouverymuch. So the idea of “modeling” a chainsaw made me feel more like Hilde the mountain woman, than well, capable.
That’s my run-on, multiple paragraphs way of saying I was intimidated.
{I feel as though I especially captured the essence with a nice braid and boot action I had going on, don’t you? Maybe more like awkward mom in yoga pants and north face jacket, but hey… I think this is even more to my point…}
Because I actually tried it out.
And it was amazing! So much easier and less scary than I or you would think. I’m continually impressed with each Greenworks tool I try. Lightweight. Easy to use. I didn’t feel like I was going to drop it in some random accident and traumatize myself. You know, the important stuff when it comes to yard tools.
And I guess that’s what I want you to walk away with, from this post {other than the amazing giveaway below} so that you can try it, too. Because if someone as squeamish as me can do it… you can too. REALLY.
Which is why we are excited about this giveaway!
Greenworks tools is graciously hosting a giveaway, along with Thistlewood Farms, LollyJane, Remodelaholic, sincerelysarad, and loveandrenovations.
Three lucky people are going to win $300 each towards Greenworks tools of their choosing! All the details on how to do that are below! But first, a little about my love for these tools.
We love that these tools are built for everyone to use. We’re at the stage in our life where we’re ready to start sharing our yard work with the kiddos. But also I can handle some myself, when the tools aren’t quite so intimidating. I’m not saying I’m ready for them to weld a chainsaw {duh, that one’s officially mine because I am the embodiment of Hilde} but I am ready for them to try out some more of their amazing options.
Greenworks tools are truly built for the family. Lightweight and easy to operate, they allow the entire family to get involved. All of their designs are corded or battery operated. That means there is no issue for people mixing gas correctly, spillages, or any of the other hassles that come with potentially overwhelming gas-powered tools.
Greenworks tools are friendly to the environment, which is a major plus when cutting down on greenhouse gases. It’s already a difficult thing to do.
Now to the fun part, the giveaway!

I love you mastering that chain saw! I bought their pressure washer after your post last month and live it. It works so great and I love that it’s an easy to start electric. Thanks for sharing!
