When we spied this version of the handmade hideaway under our instagram hashtag, we kind of freaked out a little.
This amazing little boathouse by Belly full of Kelly is the most adorable thing you ever will see… and we’re honored to share a little mini-tour of sorts today!
She says: I can’t take all the credit for this little boathouse, for the most part it was here when we moved in..This old fishing boat stranded on our property was set into the perfect playhouse location – a forever spot as this would not be something that could be moved easily…
So they turned it into a Handmade Hideaway. And all of the cute little details make it truly and uniquely their one of a kind find for their sweet kiddo!
But what is it that they say about an artist’s limitations… because creative much? We’re in awe.
Kelly writes:
So basically its an old fishing boat that was gutted and set on the ground. We framed a deck around the outside and then framed walls and added siding. The roof is made out of corrugated metal laid on top of beams. For the flooring we used fencing because it was so cost effective, we trimmed off the top of the fencing to make it all squared and laid them onto the floor joists. I only waterproofed them to keep the floor color natural although it could have been stained. We laid floor joists from edge to edge of the boat and then laid a floor on top. The front of the boat area which was hard to add flooring to we left open and added sand for a little built in sandbox… which the kiddos love.
We’re amazed by how much you guys have built. Nothing makes us happier! Be sure to follow along and for more beautiful creationswith happy little faces sure to check out the hashtag, here.
Have an inspired day!
