psssst…. shop our spaces here!
Remember this little episode? It would probably be more appropriate to say not-so-little episode, since it definitely included all the spaces of our fab clients in one.
When it comes to the Cabaniss project, you can see their dining room design, kitchen redo, family room reveal, and master bedroom in bold colors. And we’re back with this little install, which was their home office makeover!
Even though the existing photo was a little stuffy from the listing, it had great bones.
Mark and Jillina both work from home on occasion, so it was important to give them a space that both expressed who they are, but also worked hard for them. This space sits directly to the right when you come into the door, so it was also important that it stay organized and open with the overall layout and feel of their spaces.
With finds from their travels, sentimental objects, a fresh work space and things around their home, we decided to help infuse it with a little personality.
With a masculine light and clean lines, juxtaposed with bright colors and personality, you can see it’s the perfect blend of the two.
They’ve told us now that they can’t seem to keep the kids out from under foot since it offers such a great alternative workspace!
Jillina’s mom sewed these fabulous curtains, and we loved pairing a new desk with an old classic chair they already had.
They’re big photography lovers, so we filtered in their sweet family photos, along with finds from their travels.
These massive burgundy leather photo albums were covered with alternating patterns to bring color and interest to the shelves, and lighten everything up.
I think there should be a rule that every person own at least one magnifying glass.
Those never get old.
And neither do classic books.
Jillina’s grandmother handed down these Mason Jars that have been in the family for years. I’d love to know what they’ve seen + held. I’d be willing to bet a lot of money on peach preserves, for one.
We love that there’s a sweet view of the entryway and dining room, keeping the entire thing feeling fabulously open, even though they have their own space tucked away into a room for quiet work.
What’s your favorite element in the space? We’d love to hear!
Have an inspired day!

I love the overall transformation! The office went from the kind of room that is off-putting and boring (apologies to the owners!) to stimulating and fresh. But if I have to pick an element, it would be the warm and fun desk-top items combined with the clean and clear shape of the desk. I wish we could see the chair a little better in the photos!

Love it!! And my favorite thing that also gave me an “aha” moment is the photo albums covered in that gorgeous paper! Totally gonna do that with my old albums that hold precious photos but are so ugly on the outside! Thanks!!

The desk is great. A classic look and the metal legs add a nice touch, very elegant.
The pencil jar adds a nice splash of color.
