psssst…. shop our spaces here!
This past week, we were thrilled to finish up our House for Hope space for Carbine and Associates!
If you’ve been tuned in for a while, you may have noticed that the dates for the big install and reveal were pushed back a bit. Thus the beauty of planning a big event with a lot of moving parts, and all things Williamson County Codes. Wheeeee! But we’re thrilled to be here today to share our little reveal with all of you.
When we were designing the space, we thought of what we would love in a children’s bonus room, and put our heads together to design a simple bunk/built in combo, along with some desks… Carbine and Associates executed our ideas beautifully.
They can come to our house, next ;}
We love the way the elements were combined in a functional, yet playful way. The bunks and desks and bookshelves were such a key element, we went simple with our accents and additional pieces in the space. We loved leaving a lot of it open for what the space is meant to be… a play area.
The stairs, trim and all the details behind the beds really made our day. It’s the sweetest eye candy with storage to boot, if we do say so ourselves. Function meets form in its finest. And of course, a little well placed shiplap. In moderation.
We couldn’t have pulled this space together without you fabulous readers {Hello, Books!} and our amazing sponsors who really helped us out.
We’re thrilled to share some of the sources with you today, too.
Bedding:
Major shout out to Crane and Canopy for participating in this project, in a big way. We absolutely love the way these duvet covers zip at the top to show a little peek of what looks like sheets, when it’s actually a part of the bedding itself. Be sure to check it out for any of those make-the-beds-but-not-really junkies {like us} out there.
The bedding is Crane and Canopy’s Hayes Nova in Dove Gray.
It gave it a gorgeously handsome finish and really highlighted the fun bunks. We used their beautiful products in our own master bedroom + the kiddos shared space. They’re by far our favorite bedding company. It’s always a thrill to use our favorite products in our spaces.
Bookends:
We loved using some of our own bookends for the book styling on the bookshelves. Our whale of a tale bookends are one of a kind and made of hand painted cast iron. They’re one of our favorite accents and went perfectly on those bookshelves!
Rug:
The gorgeous rug was generously provided by Loloi Rugs – our favorite source for all things rugs.
We were smitten by the Mikey Rug, a part of the new Magnolia Home Line a-la Joanna Gaines at Loloi rugs.
The subtle texture used in fun ways was accented with the perfect shot of color. Just what the space needed to tie all our fun patterns together.
Curtains:
The curtains were generously donated to us via some gorgeous linen from the ever wonderful Online Fabric Store.
I simply whipped up some quick, easy panels that went effortlessly in the space and absolutely love them for an amazing resource. #kissthefloor
Accents:
You can find this sweet cup a joe petite enamelware set through our store, here.
And the adorable jack and jill round table, here.
The chair may look familiar too… another oldie but goodie. A reupholstered find that went perfectly in the space.
I had to include a shot of this banister in case you’re curious about what the rest of the spaces hold. Yes, please.
Designed by Chad James Group.
We plan to have more of the tour here, later so stay tuned.
Fabrics:
You may notice some familiar pieces as well. We were thrilled to accent their gorgeous bunks and Crane and Canopy’s bedding with our own fabrics for lots of fun in the space. We wanted to bring in some dynamic color and thought… what better way than through our fabrics?
Shout out to our resident upholstery/seamstress for her excellent work on the bedding pieces – {my amazing mother in law.} Seriously.
Accessories:
You may spy more of our accessories: the blueberry bucket + you rule ceramic pitchers, here.
Mattresses:
Of course you haven’t have bunks and bedding without the actual mattress.
We adore Gel Foam Beds.
They came in a box, and we were skeptical at first. But our kids have them in their own bedroom and adore them… we may like them more than our own mattress. Shhhh.
You simply roll them out, and let them expand.
Doesn’t Jamin make a lovely mattress model?
They fit perfectly in the bunks.
Art:
I loved creating the art for the space. A simple, colorful quote taken from one of our favorite books of all time. {And then tweaked a bit}
We have the piece available, here this week and much more that you may have been waiting for… so stay tuned!
If I had a dollar for every time I read this to the kiddos, and changed their names in the book as I went… it was one of their favorites as toddlers. Don’t blink.
This fun edition was donated by a generous reader, and we thought it was the perfect classic to include next to our art.
Teepee:
Yes, it made a return. And felt oh so appropriate for the room. You can read the full how to for our no sew teepee, here. Decked out in our own fabrics.
Arrow + No. 5:
We have the full how to for our number 5, here. Another oldie but goodie.
And the how to for our arrow can be found in our book, here.
The gorgeous paint colors:
Walls: SW Comfort Gray
Trim: SW Pure White
Duraseal Weathered Oak – tongue & groove ceiling

We can’t thank you guys enough.
This photo doesn’t begin to do the contributions from you guys justice. We used some to style but had so many books, they were packed away along with some brand new toys for the children’s charities. I won’t lie, the book nerd in me wanted to hold on to some of these glorious classics because you guys brought it. Some of these didn’t even make the photos. We can’t wait to see them go to a great cause through all that you’ve done. These are going to some well deserving kiddos and we are thrilled that y’all were a part of it.
As always, thanks for stopping by and your sweet support. We love sharing this space with you guys.
