Let me start by saying, this is definitely NOT sponsored content. But sometimes when people tell us about great ideas, we can’t help but share them. Remember this awesome space from last week, where we loved sharing this basement from our amazing clients? If not, be sure to check it out. We’ll wait. We wanted to share how to make these simple, effortless print outs. How to print out large and in charge framed art – straight from your phone!
Still obsessed with this before and after view!
We had the idea of doing some great black and white blown up photos of their kids for the basement, when this wall was finished. Insta art, right?
There are a lot of complicated tutorials out there for creating, framing, etc. And our client being the busy mom that she is {major props to her for a hot second, seeing as how she’s a doctor during this pandemic so I really can’t even with how amazing she is} decided to {understandably} take a short cut for these photos. I mean, she has lives to save, y’all.
I’m a photoshop gal, so anything to make things simpler is amazing! I can’t help but share the really easy things on here that make everything so simple for people.
Easy peasy rice and cheesy… in just a few simple steps.
1. Take any photo on your phone, under portrait mode.
You know… the ones where the backgrounds are all blurry. Said amazing client was kind enough to let us use her simple photos as an example, to show you how.
2. Change it to High Key Light Mono.
Take your photo, {remember, any photo on portrait mode} and slide it at the bottom of your phone, all the way to high key light mono option. It’s a new update on the phones under the camera app, and automatically removes the background, along with giving your photo that great studio lighting. WHAT.
Tada!
But here’s another option:
I also downloaded this {free!} app for any smart phone, and it’s another great alternative to removing backgrounds. Just a little side note here in case you aren’t sure about how to, or quite ready to update your camera app.
Here’s a simple photo she took of Jamin, when we were standing there that day, discussing the process.
She snapped it in two seconds just to show us, and then slid the menu at the bottom.
Pretty great for a simple phone photo that you can send straight to the company.
So great, right?
3. Upload + Order
Finally, she uploaded the photos straight from her phone to this site, and had them ordered in no time!
{Pssst… I ordered some fun photos of our kids the other day because their sale prices are ridiculous – going on now – I can’t wait to share!}
Beautiful large and in charge prints, straight to your doorstep. The best part? They’re already framed. AND NO, this isn’t sponsored. ;}
We just believe in sharing great, easy ideas when we come across them. And this certainly wasn’t ours, but this über smart mom gave us permission to share. We’re so glad she did!
Easy peasy rice and cheesy.
We just love the way their basement turned out!
Be sure to check out more of it, here. And as always, let us know if you have any questions + we’d love to hear if you try it!
Have an inspired day!
Oh, thank you so much for this post. I have a favorite picture of my boys when they were little, but the background is of the messy garage and I hate that. Will be trying this. Thank you.
Thank you for letting me know! Like I said, I’m a photoshop gal but easy solutions are oh so helpful! She was a genius for figuring it out – I’m just glad I could share. Happy creating!
How is the resolution on such a large print from phone? Thank you!
Hi! I guess it depends on the photo, but these turned out just perfect. They have a feature on their site which notifies you if the photo is too large for the print. Hope that helps!
