Happy Friday, everyone! In honor of everyone’s favorite day of the week, I thought I’d share a little board of some favorite products, projects + ideas in hopes to inspire …and just because! Basically, they make me smile!
1. Elbow patches! Who doesn’t love them? Particularly metallic elbow patches! This sweater is pretty swell, though I’m not swooning over the price. {Unless it’s lightheadedness from disbelief.} But I guess that’s the beauty of patches. Not very hard to DIY! I’m now one step away from adding patches to everything in sight…particularly metallic ones.
2. Washi tape! From adding a little pick me up to your every day notes, to decorating things like clothespins and gifts for that latest birthday party…and even the digital version to use with your own images… Never ending fun that takes me back to my Hello Kitty days of yore.
3. Jeep Wagoneers! On a sobering note, no. We still haven’t replaced the Quest since our loss this fall. I guess you can say we’re waiting, for a lot of reasons. One of them is that we thoroughly enjoy not having to make a car payment right now…and another is secretly wondering if I can find one of these puppies. But I’ll be honest…I really miss that minivan. Haters gonna hate! Minivan moms unite! Yes. I did just write that. In the meantime, vintage Jeep Wagoneers rock my face off.
4. Garlands! Of all and any kind. Every child and every season in every home…should have one. Somewhere. They never get old to me, because of all the different versions out there!
5. Worlds best blanket! I actually scored this one on sale, thanks to Pinterest. And they’re out of stock, so I linked to an equally awesome find from Land’s End. The kids have their lovies and blankets at night when they snuggle on the couch, and sometimes, they ask for “mommy’s blanket.” They can have it, but only if I’m not using it. ;} Seriously. I’m that selfish. It’s that amazingly wonderful.
6. Herringbone Tile! Be still my heart.
7. Labels! Anywhere and everywhere.
8. Cath Kidston! Anything.
9. Mrs. Meyers! Years from now I’ll still be cleaning with it. And my family will say, ‘After all this time?’ And I will say, ‘Always.’ {Ten points for knowing what I’m referring to in that last sentence.}
10. This Y’all shirt! Because I say it.
11. Herringbone + elbow patches = euphoria! I actually have to stop typing now because I’m about to break out the sewing machine…
12. You’ll never find me without a sketchbook sans lines {not this one. I can’t read the site. Basically as long as it’s spiral bound, hardback, and unlined, we’re cool. I don’t ask for much, do I?} The worlds greatest mechanical pencil + the worlds equally greatest pencil sharpener. Which I don’t use much, because of the whole mechanical pencil gig. But it looks cool, and my children use it, and I’ve had it since college. So it’s one of my favorite things.
13. Old cameras! The best decor accessory that will never go out of style.
14. Not seen on this inspiration board: words including, but not limited to ‘bamboozled’ and ‘brouhaha.’ Those also make me smile.
So what about you? What are some of your current favorite things? Spill it. ;}
Hope you have a wonderfully inspired weekend!

I love Washi tape! It’s an addiction. Do you know they make Cath Kidston Washi tape? It’s amazing! But then again, so is Cath Kidston!
WOAH!!! Since I was in the 5th grade I’ve dreamed of owning a Jeep Grand Waganeer! There is just something about them, cool and retro and Grand!
(although, I too, LOVE my mini-van)

Oh, dear, oh, dear. This post was the first in my Google Reader today, and I was reading it as I sipped my first cup of coffee. The Jeep Wagoneer jumped out at me, and come to find out my husband’s always craved one…apparently he’s spent the entire morning scouring the ‘Net for one now that he knows I may be interested! You’ve started something. Also? I have that same time Pinned for the kitchen remodel we hope to undertake this year!!
I love this whole board! I would add in Burt’s Bees Pomegranate lip gloss. Especially in colder weather I adore it. A touch of softest and a little bit of color…love it!
Thanks for an inspiring inspiration board!

I absolutely love everything on your board!! Especially the old cameras, I have quite the collection myself and it’s continually growing. Love the Alan Rickman line. 😉 HAPPY FRIDAY!

TEN POINTS to Amanda!

French press coffee, chocolate (wahoo–Christmas stocked me up on both), my water bottle, my crockpot, and a clean floor (we just got a puppy–clean floors are apparently now impossibly even though I’ve vacuumed EVERY day for the last week… is this what it’s like to have children?)!
ashley @ the handmade home says
HA! Mary. It’s worse. ;}

Love, love, love the Jeep Wagoneer. Everyone I know thinks I’m crazy for it, but I don’t care. Someday I’ll have one. Or maybe just a poster somewhere. 😉
I have some cameras, but the collection I can’t wait to display somewhere is my collection of vintage alarm clocks. I love all the styles and colors all mixed up in one place.
Speaking of Meyer’s Clean Day, I just recently bought the book about the real Mrs. Meyer. She raised something like 9 kids and kept her house clean the whole time. So impressed! Lots of good solid, old school advice on cleaning and tips throughout. You can get it here. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0446544590/ref=mp_s_a_2?qid=1326468748&sr=1-2

Ooooo. I think I’ll be checking that one out. She intrigues me. Thanks!

Love, LOVE Mrs. Meyers! Also love the herringbone tile, it’s such a pretty look. But I’m dying to know what the “real” worlds best blanket is you’ve pictured, even though it’s sold out. Willing to share?
ashley @ the handmade home says
Hey! It’s on Lands End. It’s just no longer available! It’s a great blanket! http://www.landsend.com/404.html ;} I use it daily because I’m so cold natured!
Kate says
Thanks, I’ll have to give the other a try! Me too!
Deirdre says
My first time landing here, but already I love your site—and not just because you made me feel smart for loving Alan Rickman too:)
Danielle says
Mrs Meyer makes me smile too. And so does Harry Potter! Everytime I read that quote I feel the tug to reread the first book.

Just what is a day if not waiting for a brouhaha? LOVE that word around here, too! And y’all? MWAH! How do you get through a sentence without it? (And if they had left off the apostrophe I would have croaked and boycotted. Alas, it’s cute AND properly punctuated. Best. Ever.) I am a moron who has evidently lived under a rock and am just learning of the joys of Washi Tape. So precious!

I LOVE these boards you make!!! What is the chance you would give a little tutorial on how you do them?!?! I think they are awesome!! ALSO, J.crew had a groovy shirt with elbow patches at the beginning of the season… it was really pretty! Of course, J.Crew prices… but, might be on sale now!

What a great idea! Where do I start, so many to chose from; my absolute favorite, discovered quite a few years ago; angel innocent perfumes by thierry mugler, love it, makes u smell like an angel, next would be tea, any kind as long as it’s hot – I am a teacholic, another one my phone – so many things in one, my fluffy robe, equivalent of your blankie, though I have one of those too;) just like to stay warm and I live in Las Vegas – go figure. One more, my pottery barn catalogues, I do drool when I see one.

Hello! I was already smiling while reading this list (I love Cath Kidston, still say Ya’ll much to the delight of my Northern neighbors, and have herringbone brick in my mudroom) but you really got me at the reference to Alan Rickman! Love him and love Harry Potter!

I think we’re soul mates! The Wagoneer has been my dream car since high school, I dress like an elbow-patched college professor, and Mrs. Meyers is my best friend. My Pinterest account is http://pinterest.com/junkinmytrunk/ come take a look at your wondertwin.

Mrs Meyers is definitely a favorite of mine too; not enough people seem to know how awesome it is! I have not tried the honeysuckle hand soap yet but I bet you have if you have a t-shrit that says, “y’all”. I don’t have a shirt but I do say it too! I just found your blog and am really enjoying it. Thanks for writing!
