If you guys were following along a few weeks ago with Heather and Andrew’s story, we’re more than thrilled to bring a little update to you today.
We’re showing you the spaces we started with: A little progress on Andrew’s master bedroom and bath transformation!
But first, we thought we’d share a quick before, and where we are with all things progress. We’re practically bursting with excitement to finish this up and show you the afters.
It’s pretty drastic and we love that Andrew is such a great sport. They’ve all been camped out a bit around the house while we got this party started!
But first, we thought we’d share a quick before, and where we are with all things progress.
The walls had a bit of an old school 70’s style, wood finish. They’d previously been trying out paint colors.
Heather was a big fan of Valspar’s Woodrow Wilson Putty – so we started there. We ADORE the way it plays with other colors in their house.
Here you can see two small closets, that we decided to transform into his new bath space for the new layout.
And here’s the previously existing tiny master bath: As you can see from the before, this hasn’t been touched since 1970-something. Maybe the 80’s. They inherited this house from the previous owner, and the plastic tile isn’t only bright, it’s plastic. So we were thrilled to see it go, but not as thrilled as Andrew.
Needless to say, Andrew was ready for a whole new look. And this is putting it nicely. I think he should have saved one of the tiles to frame on his wall when all of the is said and done so he can remember. Oh so fondly.
So here’s a bit of the plans we have rolled up our sleeves… with the basic floor plan:
Where his closets once were, you can see we’re bumping it out to make space for his new tub and closet area, along with his new master.
And a little bathroom inspiration…
Paired with his bedroom details, and some of the elements we hope to bring in there, as well.
We knew he wanted a touch of charm and masculinity in his master suite. We think that one of the most important elements for him right now, is an escape.
Parenting is hard, and life is hard, and your bedroom should be a retreat. So we’re so excited to help create this space for him.
We were thrilled to partner with Kichler Lighting for his spaces – the bedroom light {part of the Cahoon Collection} comes with the option of a semi-flush, which is just what his space will need.
The bathroom vanity lights are pretty and fresh as well, bringing in some character over the mirrors with the Braelyn Collection
And here’s some overall changes with the entire look of their house, with color schemes, trim, and little details.
And a little progress… because in our book, there’s nothing more satisfying!
Here’s where his closets once were, now making room for a master bath and closet off his bedroom.
And the old bath… bye old tiny bath.
Hello awesome new laundry space. The old laundry was in a tiny closet in this same area, but most of it was taken over by the plastic tile bath. Now he has lots of space for air drying of the clothes, and more.
Think stacked, front loading washer and dryer, with clever storage space.
The floor is pretty great, too. We have a thing for penny tile.
And as you can see, there has been major progress on his bedroom, too!
His bath is smaller, but still packs a lot of character. We can’t wait to share the next phase with you!
And a sneak peek at this gem. Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my chin.
This bad boy is going in soon, and we can. not. wait.
As with all our designs, they’ve been tweaked and evolved a little with time. We can’t wait to show you lots of progress and the entire after, soon.
UPDATE: We actually stopped by today, and wanted to give you another sneak peek. SO CLOSE!
So stay tuned… there are more phases coming your way… {and wait until you see what we’re doing with the kitchen!}
We can’t think of anyone more deserving than this sweet family and we are so thrilled for them.
Have an inspired day!
I don’t know why I didn’t realize it in your previous post, but Andrew is the brother of a dear church friend. Heather was an incredible person and I prayed for her daily. I’m so glad this precious family is getting some of your amazingness! What a wonderful project!
It’s so funny how people end up being connected to each other. Are you talking about his sister who lives in town? I feel weird putting names here for some reason 😀 she’s super sweet! We are thrilled to help and can’t wait to finish up phase one of this awesome project to show you guys! Thank you so much for your sweet words, Beth!
This is looking fantastic, you guys! ❤️
Love all these ideas. We are doing our bathroom so I’m keen on this project. Thanks for sharing at the #inspirationspotlight party. Stopping by to let you know your post has been shared & pinned.
Nice choice of colors to your bathroom. Can’t wait to see you share the finished project. Both of you must be excited. Thanks for sharing this. Inspired to improve my bathroom now.
