Remember the ‘dark house’ introduction last week?
We’re sharing more on the local design side of things, per our sweet readers’ requests. For part one of this series, check it out here. For future reference, we’ll be sharing more of the process in this section of our site, where you can see each one divided by category. We hope this helps clarify what we’re up to, because we’ll be adding more homes and clients, soon.
If you remember from our post last week, we shared kitchen plans, which you can see more of by clicking that link above. And today we’re sharing the bathroom plans.
Here’s a quick reminder of the before…
And the after…
Alongside a quick sneak peek of her cabinet plans.
So, bathroom progress. Not only are we doing her main living area, but her entire home is getting a bit of a lift.
Our client’s master bath will get a vanity makeover, along with fresh tile on the backsplash for a great modern feel and some beautiful materials. We’re breaking it down to show you where we are. We have to say, the houses that haven’t been touched in a while, are our very favorite.
The goal is to lighten and brighten and bring it all up to date for a fresh, one of a kind feel. We love that she is so open to such fun tile ideas, because this is going to bring in a ton of character and fun to the space.
A few of the design details:
• Vanity: We love the vanity + countertop from hausera.
• Fixture: This faucet is some kind of wonderful for some major style. More of that Brizo love. {Is it weird that I want to play Lizzo songs in my head whenever I see that name?}
• Tile: Jeffrey Court – which will be placed on the back wall, as well as her bathroom floor in the adjoining space.
• Lights: loving these vanity lights by kichler. We’re actually using the individual ones but I love all the options.
• Mirror: And one of my very fave elements is this backlit mirror– they do so much for getting ready when there isn’t much natural light in a bathroom.
Fun accessories: towel / towel / rug
The goal is to lighten and brighten – We can’t wait to see how much it does for such a small space in a fun way.
And for her hallway bath, we have these plans. Here’s a sneak peek at the before.
The photos of this tile do not do it justice, because it’s actually a softer color, once I put my hands on a sample. We like for our clients to be able to get their hands on as much as possible with key design elements before we pull the trigger. But this was a quick mockup I used to show her how we could carry the tile all the way across the wall of that second bath, along with the rest of the design elements. We love how open and fun this bathroom is going to feel!
A few of the design details:
• Vanity: We love the vanity from hausera.
• Fixture: This faucet is some kind of wonderful for some major style. More of that Brizo love for continuity’s sake + bath accents + towel bars here.
• Tile: Jeffrey Court – which will be placed on the floor, and paired with this fun beverly blue fan tile.
• Lights: loving these vanity lights by kichler. We’re actually using the individual ones but I love all the options.
• Mirror: And one of my very fave elements is this backlit mirror, again with more of a lighting option.
Fun accessories: shower curtain / rug
Actual tile – see the difference? It’s a lot softer and the photos aren’t doing it justice. AHHH obsessed with that pop of blue.
Here’s where we are in the demo/plumbing/electrical process, and our guys are hard at work on all the in-the-meantime stuff.
{We’re leaving the master vanity area untouched until the last possible minute, since our awesome trooper of a client is now making it work without a kitchen.}
Just getting rid of that old wall divider will make such a difference in the way this bathroom feels. It’s also amazing what you’ll find underneath old floors that need to be replaced after a few decades. This house is about my age, so it was time. ;}
So stay tuned, we can’t wait to share more of the process in this fun ride.
