Hey guys! We’re thrilled to be back with another installation of Coffee Talk!
We introduced a new series a week ago, on Psychology of a Renovation, so if you haven’t seen this one yet, you may want to hop over and check it out!
We approach our home as an experience, and in our first video, we explain our thought process behind why we choose to invest in it. The rest of this series is all about the whole idea of the psychology behind renovations. Or any changes in your home, from big to small.
This week, we’re talking about fixations. We’re thrilled to tackle this topic because everyone does it. Even us. We get it. We’ve been there. And it’s important to talk about. Because really, it’s the thing no one ever talks about when it comes to changes in your home.
So let us know… when have you experienced a fixation? What helped you move forward?
We hope you enjoy – As always let us know if you have any questions. We’d love to hear!
Have an inspired day!

This was so timely for me after a master bath renovation. The way you described the shock of newness combined with the fear of having wasted time and money was PERFECT! It’s exactly what happens to me whenever something new and significant is added to my home. It’s like an Alice in Wonderland phenomenon, where the new item seems absolutely high or the color is completely different than what I wanted. . . until a week later, after a ton of unnecessary stress and anxiety, I love all of it and can see with clarity that the choices were the right ones and my perception was actually skewed by the fact that it was new. I have friends for whom this is not an issue, and I envy their ability to roll with it all, but I appreciate you both sharing that it happens to experienced home renovators like you! Thank you for sharing.
