spooky halloween snack mix

‘Tis the spookiest time of year, and probably our favorite! We love whipping up some fun celebratory creations, and today we’ve teamed up with some of our favorite sites to share a spooky Halloween snack mix recipe. {Be sure to check out the other sites we’ve linked below.}

We surprised the kiddos with this one after school the other day, and it was a hit.

Think Chex mix on halloween, kicked up a notch.

Here’s what you’ll need:

• 2 cups pretzels
• 2 cups Reese’s Puffs peanut butter cereal
• 1 16 ounce white chocolate candy packet
• 2 containers of spooky eyeball sprinkles
• 1 package candy corn
• 1 cup Halloween M & M’s
• 2 cups Chex
• 1 cup Craisins

As you can see, this snack mix is just a fun hodge podge of pure sugar, which makes for a fun after-school treat. You can mix those amounts however you want, but we thought these proportions were fun.

For the pretzel “zombies”, simply melt your white chocolate in a bowl per the directions on the back of the package. We just placed ours in the microwave on melt mode for a few seconds.

When it was melted, we added the pretzels, and stirred them in. Then on a wax sheet, we pulled them out with a spoon, and placed the sprinkles on the white chocolate while it was still wet.
