How many Auburn fans does it take to design an Alabama room?
Nope. It’s not a joke. But trust us when we say the humor wasn’t lost on us when our sweet client contacted us about putting something together in the way of all things football, a special team dedicated to it, and our rival team.
Say what?!
If you’ve been reading for a while, then you probably know that we met at Auburn. We both hail from the state, and even though we now reside in Nashville, Auburn is home to us – {more so than our own home town of Birmingham}.
If you’re familiar with all things SEC, then you probably know of a little rivalry between two different teams. And if you’ve been reading for a while, you probably know we’re always up for a challenge.
So when Gina contacted us about putting together a special room in their basement, where they could watch all things football, themed for her family’s favorite team… we couldn’t help but laugh… just a little.
But good humored rivalries aside, if we know two things it’s our southern love for football, and well, good design. {Jamin did attend Alabama for a year, after all.} Honestly, she called the right people. This basement space is dedicated to that, and we are so excited to show a little sneak peek of great things to come today.
Here’s the overhead view of their layout for the space.
And on this wall, will be their media center. With multiple TV’s, built in cabinets, and more.
This wall will be dedicated to all things football.
With built in customized cabinets, and just a little hint of shiplap, with a different twist.
Here you can see an additional space where she’ll be able to utilize underneath the stairs for a new built-in look with a dry bar, and small fridge.
We can’t wait to infuse it with a little Jeffrey Court tile for some major character!
We also have some plans up our sleeves for some great original art ideas, with a vintage twist, and a surprise partnership we can’t wait to share more on.
In the meantime, here’s a glimpse at a few of the ideas we’ve cooked up for the space.
It quite literally may be the polar opposite of what we would usually design… and this is why we love it so much. Think stained floors and fabulous layers of gray with houndstooth {which I never get to work with because Alabama, so I’m fully embracing} great shades of crimson and fun coordinating patterns…
We can’t wait to show you how all these amazing elements are going to come together!
Stay tuned. It’s going to be so much fun.
The race is on, because we REHEALLY need to complete it before their season starts up!
Side question: Do you think they’d be creeped out if someone showed up for the big rival game in their basement a-la full on AU garb this fall?
Asking for a friend… ;}
Have an inspired day!

This is fantastic. Longtime UA fan here, and I secretly hope you add a little something from Toomer’s Corner in the room. I think everyone would get a kick out off it.

HAHA! A fellow AU friend said I should hide a tiny Bus with “gus” written on it. Even though we’re NO LONGER ON THE BUS. The tree is still too fresh ;D
