{pssst: see the final project here!}
This week of posts have been all about plans, from planners to cabanas, and now a really fun beach house project. Even though the whole pandemic thing kinda threw us off schedule, we have quite a few renovations and projects that have been going on behind the scenes and we hope to be able to share them with you soon. Today we wanted to share a little bit of a sneak peek of a beach house that we’ve been working on, that we can’t wait to share some of our favorite ideas, in a series of sorts.
Our clients found this awesome beach house, and just wanted to make it reflect their family.
So we were honored to help. This project is a great example of how it doesn’t take huge changes to make a big impact, and we’ll be sharing more of that behind the scenes stuff that we know you love, with a little bit of the process. We began the project this winter, and we can’t wait to show you the end product, oh so very soon!
This is the living and kitchen area, with lots of awesome space for a great getaway.
The new owners are looking to spruce it up to make it a bit more coastal-friendly.
Think shades of sea glass and soft color, paired with fun textures and neutrals. They want it to reflect them, and the cherry cabinets and dark countertops right next to the sea shore, just weren’t working for them. {Side note – anyone else despise wide angle lenses when it comes to real estate photos?}
For now, we’re happy to share the ‘befores’ with these MLS photos, but the good news is that we’ll be photographing it in real life, in just a little over a month.
So the house has the great main living area for lots of awesome open space, then three bedrooms and two full baths.
This is the master bedroom, and master bath…
Along with the kiddo/guest rooms.
We’ve been thrilled to help them pick elements, along with all the little details long distance.
We’ll be headed down this summer to check it all out, and show off some fun changes with photography.
The house also has this great little wrap around porch.
And a private lot not far from the beach.
So much fun potential!
We can’t wait to show you everything we’ve chosen together. We’ll be back each week with the details behind the selections with each section of the house. They’re making changes like paint colors, new light fixtures, tile and countertops. So since we’ll be breaking it down by category, we thought you might like to start with the simple: the color scheme we’ve chosen. And the easy entryway finds we have, as well. {Some of the links below are affiliate links so that we can share fun ideas!}
Colors – The basic colors in the home are:
Sherwin Williams Waterscape {because nothing screams beach more than beautiful soft aquas}
Sherwin Williams Pure White
Sherwin Williams Alabaster + Glimmer – alternating for softer versions of the colors.
And for the entryway…
The entryway to the house is pretty small, so we thought just a few fun extra touches would liven it up a bit.
• We love this art for a fun simple piece of the beach
• And these hooks for all the things. With three kids, it should stay pretty full.We liked the price, too.
• This sweet classic braided rug for all things color from here
• Original light sourced from Kichler, here {Part of their Everly Line}
Except we needed a larger light for the entryway, so we’ve substituted it out with these lights from the Tollis collection. You may remember from our fun kitchen makeover earlier this year… this one is just dying to be at the beach.
We hope that you’re enjoying this little intro… we can’t wait to show you more! This is just the beginning of some really fun finds.
Stay tuned as we share more of the process and our choices!
Have an inspired day!
