Hi Ashley, what an amazing renovation!!! I haven’t read your blog for a while (busy life, building, moving, homeschooling etc.) so I’m super behind in all the amazingness that you and the hubs have been up to. Anyway, love the wallpaper you used in both the basement and your office space but hoping to find something a bit bolder. What are your favorite wallpaper sources for stylish but affordable wallpaper, and preferably somebody who ships to the Great White North, that would be Canada 😉Thanks a bunch!
If you’ve been tuned in for a while, then you know we have a thing for wallpaper. It’s kind of our very favorite thing to use, and it can bring so much fun to a room!

And a cheater’s guide for removing wallpaper: {we actually get this question a lot}
Because we didn’t actually remove it. When we moved in, it looked like this, torn and gross on the wall. We realized that this wallpaper wasn’t going anywhere.
So we covered the seams by mudding it with drywall layers, and sanding it down, in between layers.
Then we primed the wall with about three coats of primer.
We added one more coat of primer, and two coats of paint on top of that.
The stripes were gone. {Here’s a photo of the wall with its second coat of primer, before we started the process of painting.}
And here’s what it looks like, today!
You’d never know there was any peeling wallpaper in sight. We didn’t spend days removing it… we just moved right on to the good stuff.
So this rounds up our wallpaper sources post.
As always, let us know if you have any questions. We hope this helps get you started in creating some beautiful spaces. {Pssst – check out our fave barn doors from artisan hardware!}
Have an inspired day!
