colorful halloween tablescape

It’s officially spooky season – even though you know we celebrated a little early this year. I mean, if I’m going to go to all the trouble to break out the ghosts, they might as well be up early. But I’m all about all the holidaisically festive things. Up this week? A colorful Halloween tablescape!

We love color. No matter what the season. So, of course, this one needed to be spooky and bright. The setting this time was in our great room. I loved having such a festive table for the kiddos when they arrived home from school. At this point, they’re accustomed to mom being “extra,” but this one made them smile.

For what it’s worth, this is your sign to scoop up these colorful skulls {similar found here}. My daughter spied them when we were out one day, and I immediately knew they would make the perfect little flower vases. We are big fans of the colorful style from Día de Muertos, and these felt like a little nod to Mexico’s beautiful culture.

PS. You can’t beat the two-dollar pricing. They’re now sprinkled all over our house.

I even planted some marigolds in our front yard, clipping a few to add, since they are the national symbol of the Day of the Dead. I was not prepared for the smell. Upon googling, I remembered that they use them for a reason. I love learning little things like this.

Of course, I had to bring in these happy little ghost candlestick holders, as well. They make such a happy little addition!

We added some of these fabulous ghost plates {found some here}, and layered them in with things from around our house, as well as these striped napkins + a colorful table runner {similar one here}.

These glasses are some of my new faves. They’re handmade from recycled glass and I love the heft of them, and that pretty look. Clearly, I have a thing for glass.

And, of course, I had to throw in some smaller mirrorballs. Because mirrorballs. I grabbed those here. But I’m sure you’ll see them in almost every shot this season, if not with a few more baby mirrorballs. All the sparkles and color.

This just made such a happy little table!

I can honestly say, I’ve always been a reluctant fall decorator. I think it’s because I’m always a little overwhelmed with our own renovations we have going on. This time around, though, we aren’t really dealing with our own house, so it makes things easier on the festive front when it comes to the little things.
