Lately, a lot of our posts have been about progress. Which is a good thing for us, because it means that we’re taking on some really exciting projects for some awesome people.
We’re very excited about this post today, because it’s for some special clients, and it has been an absolute pleasure to work with them.
Our sweet clients Suzanne and Carol are daughter and mother. And in Suzanne’s house, she has an extra bed and bath, where her mother will soon come to stay with them, full time.
The existing guest bath previously backed right up to a closet, and had limited space for a few of Carol’s needs. So we were more than thrilled to put our heads together and come up with a more spacious arrangement.
We’ve been knocking down walls and we know they’re so glad to see progress for something much more important. We’ve designed a sweet space that we like to call our barrier free bath. It will meet the ADA standards for accessible design, and beyond even that, also become a beautiful area that Carol can truly enjoy.
Not only will it meet her needs, it will be gloriously spa-like and oh so pretty.
Here’s a few of the design elements that will be going into the space.
And at a glance, a quick mock up of certain elements that will meet her needs, in the bathroom layout.
Designing this with her was a lot of fun… another part of what we love is meeting certain challenges in a space, while also designing something that’s beautiful for the client. Doing what we do, isn’t like a new build as it works within the existing footprint. A lot of times it can feel like putting puzzle pieces back together, to function together beautifully.
For instance, we loved putting together this vanity idea, in a quick mockup to show that not only can a space be functional, but also pretty.
So here we are with the progress,
Showing a bit of demo day, we’ve reconfigured a bit to make sure that everything works nicely.
And we can’t wait to show you all more progress as the fun elements start to come into play!
As per usual, a few things have been fine tuned a bit to fit nicely within the space while still meeting the needs of our fabulous clients, so we can’t wait to show you the new space! Stay tuned!
And Have an inspired day!
