psssst…. shop our spaces here!
Do you remember a few weeks ago, when we shared this bathroom sneak peek? We’re back, and we’re so thrilled to share the big reveal with you today! If you’ve been reading here for a while, then you know that Wayfair is one of our very favorites for our projects, and we love their new home renovation section. You can find a little bit of everything there. Ordering online can sometimes be tricky, and we know firsthand that they’re definitely a trusted company who stands behind their products. So when they asked if we wanted to team up to showcase a bathroom makeover, we knew just the clients to take this on with. Jeremy and Anne Claire were such great sports about it all, and we loved putting this bathroom together for them, and their sweet Malone! {Yes, they have a Malone too, which is pretty unique – Here’s a little bit of the backstory here!}
And if you want to follow along with what other creative people are doing, follow the hashtag on Instagram #Wayfair1RoomReno.
So here’s the before. This bathroom had not been touched in a while, and we think the last homeowners kind of took on a halfway flip with things that didn’t make much sense, like randomly placed plugs and doors that were totally in the way, and vanities that were simply painted over. It was time to take some of it out. And by some of it, we mean all of it.
When that flooring was broken up in demo day, they found little gems like this:
The linoleum collections around here never cease to amaze us.
Here’s what we were thrilled to turn it into! Shooting a small bathroom without a window was a little bit of a challenge, but we were more than happy to try a few acrobatics with lighting combos! We feel like the photos still don’t do it justice, but we love the results, and how much fun it now becomes for a hallway/guest access bath, along with something masculine and fun for Malone to grow into!
We’re still drooling over the dark gray grout and tile combos. If a bathroom can be handsome, this is it!
While the previous door opened awkwardly into the room, we had two options for replacement: Change it into a pocket door to save space, or a barn door for easy access. Since the pocket door would have been much more extensive with moving electrical and drywall work, they opted for the barn door. Which brings in so much style! We love the combo of modern with a touch of rustic for the entire feel.
They love brass, and so do we! So we brought in warmer metallics to contrast with the cooler hues in the space. There’s something about it that also has a masculine edge, and we love that it will definitely grow with their sweet son!
These beautiful sconces are the perfect touch with pretty metallic hues and wavy glass.
These brass accents are like icing on the cake, especially when paired with the gorgeous blue + yummy striped towels.
We initially planned on bringing in more storage on the blank wall that removing the door suddenly freed up, and quickly realized that it was an easy way to bump an arm and quite impractical for the space. So we brought in some shelving for plenty of storage over the toilet for all things towels and accessories. We especially love the little army men that made the addition – one of Malone’s faves. We just couldn’t help ourselves.
The tile, of course, is from the wonderful Jeffrey Court. The penny tile and subway combined with the dark grey grout is the perfect pick for a little boy’s bathroom! Not only does it convey such a modern hint of masculinity, but it helps with all things cleaning, too.
The shower of course, also received a full-on makeover. What a world of difference it made to remove tired old cream pieces that had probably been there from the beginning, and replace it with all that fabulous tile!
The wall pocket is our favorite.
Jk. We can’t pick a favorite because there are so many wonderful elements in the space.
It’s all in the details and we absolutely adore how they all came together to make the space one of a kind for Malone!
We love this bathroom down to every last detail that went into pulling it together!
Be sure to check out Wayfair for all their amazing sources and all things renovations!
