Hey guys! We’re thrilled to check in today and share this small bathroom / vanity area redo. We absolutely loved the change, and wanted to share some of our favorite things, because the smallest spaces can sometimes have the biggest impact.
Here are our best tips for a small bathroom.
Here’s the before. As you can see, our sweet client’s home hasn’t been touched since 1970 something, and we were thrilled to change it over for her!
While we’ve been in the process of updating {nearly} the entire home, we’re still waiting on a few details so we can share the rest. In the meantime, we thought it would be fun to reveal this little redo today.
Best Tips for a Small Bathroom : Tile for a big impact
Don’t be afraid to go bolder in smaller spaces. We loved that our client was open to fun ideas, and this tile makes a huge impact in a small area.
Applying a fun beautiful pattern on this entire wall for a great look was the key to giving this space a real wow factor. This fabulous Jeffrey Court Tile in Locket Mosaic is a part of our curated selection, and looks oh so beautiful on that wall.
Best Tips for a Small Bathroom : Be smart with your vanity
If the space allows, a great place to save is with your vanity. A lot of people don’t realize that you can give a basic piece a custom feel for a fraction of the price. You can bring in beautiful pieces, with a great fit for awesome character this way. This beautiful piece was an original combo from Hausera, and we’re really sad to see them go.
Best Tips for a Small Bathroom : Mirrors and Lighting
It’s all in the finishing pieces, like this mirror and lighting combo from Kichler.
The right pairing can make or break a space, and we absolutely love the way that these came together.
We adore the way this Ryame Kichler mirror has a fabulous back light. Who wouldn’t want to prep for the day/night in the most flattering light ever? Serious side note: if you want to feel fabulous any time of day when you look at your reflection, grab this mirror. We adore the way those lights work.
I’m ready to replace every single one in my house.
Paired with the Janiel Sconce on each side, it’s a win/win.
This photo doesn’t do it justice, but trust us. The combo is amazing and we love the way they add so much valued dimension to a smaller space.
Best Tips for a Small Bathroom : It’s all in the Accessories
This is a little bit of a multifaceted point, so we’ll bring it in different categories.
Fixtures: We have a current fixation / love affair with Brizo and all of their lines.
I’m especially obsessed with their brass. It’s a modern take on an aged look and we love the combo of it all. This little faucet definitely did the trick for a bit of a modern vintage touch. All of their pieces are delicious.
Hardware: It all comes down to the details. Hardware is a great way to customize your piece. Stock vanities sometimes come in a beautiful shape, without the added sparkle of the right knobs. So it helps to add a little something with the hardware, since it can be so magical.
One of our favorite sources for hardware is D.Lawless.
All the little touches: From great organization to those pretty little pieces that send a smaller area over the top, this is where form truly meets function with the over all design and those finishing pieces.
It’s important to strike a balance between organization and all things pretty. We love that this vanity has plenty of drawers for all the organization, and then the items on top, to hold practical pieces like jewelry and smaller things when not in use.
Probably don’t look at my own bathroom right now, and do as I say, not as I do. But it’s good to use pretty little elements that are useful, so that the surfaces look clear when you walk away. Easier said than done, but we do love pretty little details for even the smaller spaces.
We love that the little spaces can have such a big impact, and we hope these little tips helped today.
We have a lot of fun projects coming down the pipeline, so please stay tuned.
Special thanks to our amazing friends at Copper Rock Construction who have been so great during this project + unsure times.
Have an inspired day!

Do you have a link to the exact hardware you used? I have to match some tricky brass hinges — adn this may be perfect!
