Frogtape® is by far one of our very favorite, most versatile tools. We’ve touched a little in the past on how we use it in different ways, but wanted to share some of our favorite uses this time around. So without further ado, best uses for Frogtape® in a renovation!
1. How we use Frogtape® in a renovation: Painting
Duh. Are you rolling your eyes yet? Stay with us, because we were amazed a-la all the efficiency.
We all know that Frogtape® is awesome for those endlessly sharp lines, and great prep work beforehand for amazing results.
But this time around, it was incredible for all the different colors we were taking on with our sprayer! We loved using it in combo with paper for larger areas, when switching between paint colors. It just helped keep those color differences fresh, and easy!
It also made painting so much faster than the classic brush-on method.
Definitely a win with a little extra planning for minimal effort, with great results.
{Jamin, staring in awe at how fast that went.}
Annndddd this is how it looked, peeling back the tape! We wouldn’t have been able to save time or go as fast without the fab Frogtape®!

2. How we use Frogtape® in a renovation: Construction
When we visit a client’s house to discuss changes in their home, it’s now standard that we take Frogtape® with us. We’ve known to use it to map out walls, cabinetry, bookshelves and so much more. It helps to have a visual, with a simple shift or two, before committing to plans on paper.
It’s also a great way to get your spatial orientation into gear and understand what the actual measurements on paper will mean, in real life.
Most recently, it worked for us in planning out proportions on our fireplace, and we loved being able to see the exact size we should settle on!
We’re also using it for our bookshelf planning on the other side of the room.
When in doubt, it’s a great way to see visually, and decide where to tweak what.
3. How we use Frogtape® in a renovation: Furniture Placement
Speaking of the proportion of things, you don’t even need a renovation for it to be useful. We use it all the time for rug sizing, furniture placement and more.
See this photo? We had the proportions of the furniture we thought we wanted to order, and were able to play with the furniture arrangement before we moved forward with the order. This way we could make sure all our selections worked nicely within the space, so there were no nasty surprises when it was all delivered. Anyone else been there before with a mis-measurement? It’s no fun. It all fit perfectly upon arrival, and it’s a great way to double check yourself.
I think we’ve all learned that lesson at one time or another, the hard way. Maybe a weird thought, but one of these days the new owners will rip up our floors in need of an update, and they’ll wonder what all that Frogtape® is doing underneath, since I’m pretty sure we left it there.
4. How we use Frogtape® in a renovation: Furniture Makeovers
We loved repurposing a lot of things for this space, and we can’t wait to show you some oldies but goodies with fresh faces, coming up.
One of our favorites is the delicate surfaces tape that you can use on freshly painted surfaces to do whatever you need! You may remember this piece from our old bedroom.
I’ve held on to it all this time because I just knew we’d find a good home! And that, we have. Super excited about all the storage this will offer.
But it was damaged when we moved three years ago, and I knew I wanted a fresh color with some contrast in those grooves. It had a huge gash that we covered and then sprayed down again with the fab sprayer for a fresh coat of paint. So that tape was oh so perfect for those awkward areas that didn’t need the lighter color paint. Tada!
Winning. And a lot less tedious.
5. How we use Frogtape® in a renovation: Touch Up Spots
This little use may seem basic to some, but I’m always a little surprised by how many people aren’t aware of this one.
I can think of a million ways to use it, but we did it to target areas that needed fresh grout,
And of course, spots that needed fresh paint.
We’re in the touch up phase now, between painting the bookshelves and cleaning up all the things.
We’re oh so close and Frogtape® has been one of our very favorite tools with it all.
We hope you’ve enjoyed our favorite renovation uses with Frogtape®!

Hello! Love your posts. Is there any way on my end to remove the bar on the left of your page (the Facebook,pin,etc.) options? I find it difficult to read around !
Thanks:).
Hi Julie! We’re not really sure what you’re referring to, but if you make sure your screen is not zoomed in that may help. ;}
I love al these ideas. The planning one is so great! What a smart way to use that tape! Definitely stealing some of these 🙌
