Want to know the smartest thing I did this week? I found the easiest way to paint a house. Well, our new addition at least.
We’d already painted the inside, and those ceilings a glorious blue.
It was so easy with this amazing tool.
The heat index was pushing over 110 here in Nashville and the last thing I wanted to do was spend all day outside painting.
Enter the Wagner control pro 130.
Guys, when I tell you this is a must-have, I mean click the link and buy one before your next painting job. It’s a game-changer.
Painting the Inside
We’ve owned sprayers in the past, and hated them. They’ve always seemed like more trouble than they were worth.
The clean up was awful and it was next to impossible to get them clean without a few minerals spirits. Then there’s the proper disposal of said mineral spirits and well, it’s just a lot of extra work to save time. Which means you really don’t save time.
Painting the inside happened in three easy steps.
See me staring at the ceiling? That’s not because I’m in love with the blue, though I am. That’s me, amazed at how quickly and effortlessly I painted the ceilings.
We rolled the ceilings in the rest of our house when we planked them, and we aren’t going to talk about how many hours that took. We’re still traumatized. And let’s not even mention the days and manpower it took us to paint the walls and trim. {We recruited friends and family and it seemed to take forever.}
::Hangs head in shame::
Painting in Three Easy Steps with the Wagner control pro 130.
Trust me when I say we found the easiest way to paint a house.
1. We prepped the space. This included switching between trim and ceiling and walls. It just took a little extra effort in the beginning. Those nice lines in this space were achieved with a little FrogTape and the Wagner sprayer.
2. After prep, it took a total of about 60 minutes to paint the trim, ceiling and the walls.
3. Cleanup was about a 10-minute process. It’s super simple, all you need is a garden hose and a few minutes.
Easiest Way to Paint a House in the Heat
So when we were moving to the outside, we knew that the brick would need to be painted. The brick guys gave us a great deal on brick, since we knew we wanted to paint it to match the rest of the house.
Normally I wouldn’t paint outside in that kind of heat, but we were on a time crunch I literally had two days between brick being finished, and the porch and stairs going in.
Luckily I was able to sweet-talk the brick guys into leaving the plastic on the windows and the door, which meant less prep work for me. Otherwise, taping off the areas you don’t want painted, just like on the inside, is your only prep work. I simply had to come back with a little Frog tape and cover any rips or places where the plastic had come loose.
Getting started
I simply washed the brick off with a hose, let it sit for like 10-minutes. It was hot, so by the time I got the paint out and the Wagner sprayer it was dry and ready to paint.
We decided to do a little video to illustrate the easiest way to paint a house from start to finish. Literally in 22 seconds, of time-lapse. I mix, pour and paint two sides of the addition, and then we slow it down to real-time so you can truly see how easy it is. Is it just me or is watching paint go on oddly satisfying?

Easiest Way to Paint a House: Paint Type
Of course, the right paint needs to be used with the right sprayer.
Pick your color, but we highly recommend Sherwin Williams Loxon Concrete and Masonry Primer + Exterior Architectural Super Paint, we used Extra White.
Really, guys, I don’t always sweat that much. It was just really hot.
The sprayer did such a great job with the Sherwin Williams paint that we were able to simply use two coats of primer and one coat of paint.
And look at that coverage. Isn’t it amazing?
It really was the easiest way to paint the house.
I can’t imagine rolling it. It was so quick that it only took me about 20 minutes per coat to paint all three wall.
And do you know how much easier it is to pull a spray paint lever than to dip a roller in a paint tray?
Especially when working above your head? It’s the little things we don’t consider, until we’re in the middle of it.
We can’t wait to show y’all the full reveal of the space coming soon and quicker thanks to the Wagner Control Pro 130. – Great for larger projects like the inside of a room or outside of a house.
Oh and stay tuned because we are going to show you how to paint some furniture with the Wagner Flexio 3000. – Another great tool + game-changer for smaller projects!
We’ve taken on hundreds of painting projects at this point in our lives.
Hands down, the best painting tool out there is the Wagner sprayer.
We’ve come such a long way! This little metal shed on the back is where the addition stands now. It’s about to become the perfect entertaining spot with the deck finished and everything installed.
As always, let us know if you have any questions.
Have an inspired day!
