We are thrilled to be in our primary addition, as we’re slowly but surely putting it all together. A major game changer for me and all things sanity, is this closet space! We designed {or should I say we were saved by?!} this closet, and today we’re going to show you just what makes it oh so amazing! We’re smitten with this custom closet design with Closets by Liberty™.
They have truly transformed this space, and made it usable. That’s an exciting thing since I was worried for a minute.
Because if you’re working with a smaller closet {This is still walk-in. Trust me, it’s huge compared to what we lived in for 5+ years so I’m COMPLETELY grateful -it’s perfect for me.} you may as well make it fun.
I love the way that a difficult closet really ended up feeling fabulous with this closet design. This space was a bit of a challenge. Here’s how it was looking all drywalled and semi-ready to go. It was a doozy for sure. I have a great system thanks to Closets by Liberty™.
We went for years in our tiny shared closet upstairs {that our daughter is now enjoying since it’s perfect for her} unable to hang anything between the two of us. I love that there are plenty of options with hanging clothes, in my very own closet space. I paired this with a system of baskets on Liberty’s shelves that I decided to use so I can easily switch out seasonal things as they apply when the weather changes. For instance, the lower baskets now hold swimsuits and t-shirts, but when the weather changes, they’ll be switched out for the coats and sweaters that are currently on top. I love that it offers additional storage in that capacity, as well as the ability to pull them out when needed.
Their versatile system makes a tighter space totally manageable.
Just to give you a little context, here’s the floor plan we started with.
The addition was built on a slight angle, to work with codes and septic in the allowed setback for our property. This made the closet space a challenge. You can see on the closet area labeled HERS, and the hallway {butler’s pantry walk through to our bedroom} where it’s actually obvious. Enter Closets by Liberty™ I think this proves the true versatility of their system.
We shared these doors a few weeks ago and just to give you a little context, this is what’s on the other side: the hallway to our primary bath. On each side is where we keep our closet spaces.
Because of the floor plan, pocket doors here weren’t possible, so we opted for some simple barn doors here that blend easily with the wall.
And on the other side of those doors… This fabulous little area exists.
Not all closets are created equally. Not all of them are a secondary bedroom size with floor to ceiling windows and a lounging area in the middle with a personal fitness guru and makeup artist waiting to serve you. {I’d prefer a massage therapist but I’ll settle for the makeup.} Most closets are real life hardworking smaller spaces, some of them even complete with angled walls. And that can make them a little tough to fit for custom shelving. What we love about Closets by Liberty™ are how well they work with challenging spaces, to make it feel like that luxury area we all want.
No matter what your space looks like. It’s amazing what their pieces can do.
We love that their systems are easily customizable to grow with you as you need, and they’re uniquely designed with thoughtful solutions just for your space. It’s a great way to give a closet a wonderful, custom look with that high appeal, without the designer price tag.
You can simply hop on to their site and choose from their pre-configured system, and from there, design just what you need, for your space. Then it’s delivered with easy set up, which is perfect for a one-person job. Their systems start with basic measurements: at 3 ft to 11 ft systems, with adjustable extension options as well. From there, you can customize it all!
I have to say, I was a little unsure about how it would all come together in such a tight space that has to work so hard for me.
But here we are, and I love it.
Their systems come with great add-on options, like pull-out shoe storage, closet rods, drawers, and shelves to make it feel like one of a kind. This makes it so much fun to have it all put together!
Their soft close drawers are an added bonus, and I fitted ours with their hardware as well for a little touch of glam with those pretty blue walls.
I even designated a jewelry spot for all my chunky pieces that makes it easy to access. I love that their shelves are adjustable to work with whatever you need.
Then we polished it off with a fun rug, and little details like this vent cover from vent covers unlimited. It’s the little things!
What a game changer Liberty Closets is for different spaces! If you’re looking to outfit a tough space with shelving and a drawer system that works, be sure to check out their options.

What color is the paint in the closet? You stated it was blue but it shows a dark green.

Hi! It’s more of a blue green- SW Riverway. You can see a clearer depiction of it here. Hope that helps!
