The doors of my dreams.
That is all.
{Pssst… see how we built them, here!}
I know there’s more to say, but today is an eye candy kind of post.
If you don’t pose somewhat awkwardly with the piece that took you months to build… did it even happen?
Did you know that stained glass is easily the most complicated thing in the world to photograph? I’m sure something microscopic and obscure like bee faces are also hard. But let’s just say this pair was a challenge. I wasn’t going down without a fight.
I shared the original pattern here {with more posts related to all things stained glass, if you’re interested}, my first big piece {technically my second one, total}. It was kind of my winter project, after taking a class with an awesome friend.
I then got to work on figuring out the doors.
I knew an entrance to a bathroom I’d been waiting on for about 5 years, deserved something grand.
We were thrilled to team up with Manomin Resawn Timbers for some amazing reclaimed wood that they graciously provided. The details are kind of unreal and I loved leaving it raw!
And an incredible friend who is a bit of a woodworking expert amongst other things, teamed up with Jamin to build the doors of my dreams.
I’d also like to thank Bonnie, my stained glass instructor and my sweet friend Mary who inspired me to take the class with her… I feel like this is the academy awards in case you were wondering.
I was extra and ordered some handles from Bali. They took a minute, but I do love them. They add that fun eclectic look I was definitely going for.
And now that all of this is in place, I’m not sure what to do with myself. Oh wait yes I do. Lie in my bed and stare at them. Because between this and back to school and photo shoots and client work and oil paintings and real estate stuff… we’re tired.
We made a fun video today since photography is hard. Check it out here!
As always, we will be sharing how we built them, in case you want to make some of your very own. So stay tuned. And be sure to check out the rest of my posts above if you’re curious about stained glass!
Have an inspired day!
