rigby + fItz are turning ten

It’s not every day that your doggos both turn ten. Especially on the same day, unless they’re littermates. It’s been equal parts sweet memories and absolute chaos – mostly absolute chaos. But this occasion felt special, and we thought we should document it accordingly. So today, we celebrate Rigby + Fitz Turning Ten!

After our first sweet fur baby passed following a long battle with caner, it was only a month before I knew we needed more love, fur and chaos in our life. So as fate would have it, we saw that these two were bonded and needed a home. In short, we one hundred percent signed up for more than we could handle. {Google Littermates because it’s kind of crazy.} Today I’m sharing some of our very favorite posts in the history of ever, for a little trip down memory lane.

Here are some of our favorites. 

• Their intro post – Chloe {our first pup} was with us in our newlywed days, all the way to young elementary school kiddos. I guess you could say she then passed the baton of life to these two, Rigby + Fitz. They’ve grown up with our children, as these are the pups they have the most memories of, and I can’t believe time has flown by so very quickly. {Here’s their first ever introductory post. }

• The Dog Alarm – my solution to the slow morning rise – I mean I really could use it since I fell back asleep this morning…

• The Worst Spring Break Ever – that time they ran away, and I felt like a creepy kidnapper doing the slow roll and asking children about puppies.

• Conviction by Dog Hair – because I’m pretty sure this has actually happened to people, and a little theory based on too much true crime podcast listening and Netflix watching. 

• The Little Tykes Makeover Doghouse Addition –  A really fun project with a good cause... and had an adorable outcome.

• All of our Halloween Costumes – ever, up to date – per 2023. Stay tuned for this year. It’s going to be kind of amazing if we do say so ourselves. Aiden informed me this summer that Barbie was “Not our best work”, so I it should be easy to top.

• Ghost Dog – Then, last year when they participated in the Ghost Dog Challenge… We couldn’t breathe we were laughing so hard. They really are the best sports when it comes to posing for those photos…

• DIY Paw Print Ornaments – I’m probably getting ahead of myself seasonally, but it does feel appropriate for a simple afternoon project. We enjoyed creating these sweet keepsakes, and you may want to add this simple project to your list this year. 

• In Her Survivor Era! – It was a crazy year but Rigby has been doing well… we were happy to share it here. Silly, maybe. But sometimes it’s the little things. 

• Bad Things Happen In Threes – I don’t want to jinx it or anything, but I’ve decided this can only happen to us once in our life. {I’ve probably just jinxed it.} We almost died. It was a chemical spill and death, I tell you. Though my sister just suffered through this for the THIRD time with her dogs. BOTH of them. I feel like I should send her a live-in masseuse or something. 

So thanks for tuning in today for this silly little round up. We just thought a walk down memory lane would be fun. It’s crazy how time flies, watching them grow together with our children. Happy Birthday, Rigby + Fitz!
