Once upon a time when we first moved into our house 6.5 years ago I {hastily} made some curtains. Don’t worry. I use the words “made some curtains” loosely. We’d just renovated the main and upstairs floors, I was tired, and we needed something basic. I was never happy with the way they just sloppily kind of… drooped there. Probably because I actually put zero effort behind said curtains. I wanted something to kiss the floor with a more tailored look. Instead, these were giving some seriously inappropriate PDA and it wasn’t cute. They’ve seen better days, for sure.
before- they were fine it’s just that this isn’t 1876. In an abandoned house.
This first photo is so bad, but I snapped it in a hurry because this is what they looked like if I didn’t spend about ten minutes fussing over them. Who has time to babysit their curtains?

If you think that’s bad… they were even worse when closed. Seamstress, I am not. There’s a reason I stick with what I love. {Sewing never really cranked my tractor.} I’m not willing to give it the time because I’m just not smitten with it. I made a few things for the kids when they were little, but wrestling with fabrics and doing measuring and math… it was all kind of exasperating. #aintnobodygottimeforthat.
So we were thrilled when we heard about Two Pages Curtains. You may have seen their name floating around social media, because they do such beautiful work. {Also, as seen on Amazon, here.}
They’re known for ‘custom window coverings made easy.’ And we couldn’t agree more. I was so thrilled to hang these. No more of that burlap-sack look, because they definitely understood the assignment. And they’re lined, too.

I needed something a little more put together, and something that the robot vacuum wouldn’t eat for breakfast every morning. Bless the saving grace that is our vacuum, but Mikey {aptly named by Jamin} was determined to devour these old curtains.
Aren’t these so GAWGEOUS?! We ordered the Liz Polyester Linen Drape Pleated in Ivory White. We also opted for this smart blackout liner and we couldn’t be more thrilled with them.
All the heart eyes for pinch-pleated goodness.
These are made to measure, and arrive in just a few weeks. Easy peasy. No wrestling with the sewing machine. No makeout sesh with the floor. Just a simple subtle tailored look that I can really get behind. Our space just looks more intentional. Edited.
We can’t really move our existing hardware, because of our {wonderful} ceiling beams that we love so much. So when they arrived, they were a smidge longer for accurate hanging lengths. We simply added their hanging accessories on the back, which makes them adjustable. We gave them a little steam, and that was it. If I ever want to use them somewhere else, they’re adjustable by a few inches. I love that I have that option, too.
Tada! So fresh. So simple. It really gives more of a refined, modern look.
Curtains are like mattresses. You don’t really pay much attention until they’re all wrong for you. But when they’re right… it can make all the difference.
The kids all want some in their spaces now, too. Especially with that blackout option. They would never get out of bed, so I’m not sure how I feel about such things. This space still isn’t finished, but we’re closer every weekend we get the chance to put on those polishing touches. The new curtains definitely helped.
I wasn’t here for the swaggering drama those old curtains were bringing. This is not Gone With the Wind, and these just suit our space more.
So, from premium fabrics with what feels like endless customization… {they really have some beautiful colors and fabric options, so be sure to check them out} take the easy route and check out Two Pages Curtains. You’ll thank me later for how pretty those windows look.
As always, let us know if you try them. We’d love to hear.
Have an inspired day!
