It’s fall. Kind of. Almost. Basically. Which means that we’re supposed to haul out all the seasonal things to cozy up our homes, as soon as it’s August, right? Confession: I’ve always been a bit of a reluctant seasonal decorator. So I’m just now adding a few fall touches around the home as I have time or feel motivated. And let me assure you, they’re not complicated. #aintnobodygottimeforthat In the meantime, we’ve rounded up a few easy ideas that don’t feel so pumpkin-spice-aggressive, for the reluctant decorators out there- we’ve even divided them up into relatable categories. Because why not? So without further ado, easy ideas for the reluctant seasonal decorator.
1. Easy ideas for the reluctant seasonal decorator: For the drama queen {or king}
Pampas grass in various shades. Because why not? They’re fabulous and easy and they don’t shed. These are fake. And I could probs leave them up through Christmas and throw some mini ornaments on them because I’m basic like that. Or does this make me lazy instead? Brilliant? You decide. Either way, we’re here for the colorful pampas grass this season.
2. Easy ideas for the reluctant seasonal decorator: For the homebody
Because I just unapologetically am. I think I spent the best first half of my life being criticized for it by people who didn’t understand. I like to be home to recharge and it keeps me sane. So being cozy is my favorite part about fall. Fluff the pillows, bring on the throws, and do your version of comfy. From layered rugs to cushions and so many subtle options, these are things that can stay year round, too.
3. Easy ideas for the reluctant seasonal decorator: For the crafter
This one goes out to the tired friends, who just want a few basic additions that add that cozy, without feeling like it’s too much to dust… because your home doesn’t have to look like a flea market {and I do love a good flea market} to celebrate. Maybe you’ll take it on when the next slower Saturday rolls around. Maybe you won’t. Either way, these ideas are fun and simple and really just add a little fall fun. Trust me, this is as far as I take it.
Bonus: You can leave these through Thanksgiving!

4. Easy ideas for the reluctant seasonal decorator: For the hostess
This little table scape was easy to put together with minimal effort. Promise. Just mix and match and these napkin rings topped them all off. We love throwing together a table that feels a little effortless with things from around the house. The natural elements we brought in with the napkin rings and other little finds, just warm it up a notch to feel oh so cozy.
Or just throw together some paper plates with plaid and pumpkin on them and call it a day. Whatever is easiest. We’re also here for mental sanity this fall.
Which brings me to…
5. Easy ideas for the reluctant seasonal decorator: For the weary
The candle enthusiast. I finally caved and purchased some pumpkin candles when Bath and Body Works had their last sale. And the first rainy day in late August, I totally lit them. Because if ya can’t beat em… at least the house smells good.
Again, whatever makes you feel good and cozies up the home. Coffee and a good audible book, with painting on a quiet afternoon is right up my alley. I’ve been feeling the burn out these last few months and it’s the simplest things that can make things feel right again, without being too complicated.
So Those of you out there who just may feel the same way… what’s your favorite ideas to bring on fall without morphing into a mum? I’d love to hear some simple ideas!
Have an inspired day!

You had me at pampas grass. I’m so glad you just taught me what those giant feathery things are called. I am dragging my feet about bringing out pumpkins and these are so pretty!
