Everyone’s been asking when people are decorating for Christmas. As in, are we purists who wait until after Thanksgiving, or do we break it out early? I was once a purist, and I have been apostatizing for the last five years, and I’m not even sure I used that word correctly. So this weekend, our oldest is having a delayed Halloween party because of the ACT the week before. I’m ready to start digging out Christmas so that I can slowly work on it in between real business things. I guess our house will be a holiday mullet with Christmas in the front and a Halloween party in the basement. I also guess that was a dad joke. I’m tired from touring all the colleges, so ignore me.

I can totally relate to the Christmas decorating dilemma! It’s a constant battle between being a purist and succumbing to the holiday cheer a little earlier. Your holiday mullet concept made me smile – Christmas in the front, Halloween in the basement. And trust me, your dad’s joke was on point! Enjoy your delayed Halloween party and the slow transition into the festive season. Thanks for sharing your holiday musings!
