I shared a confession last week, and it’s that I LOVE love. I was happy to share a little round-up of sorts for easy Valentine’s gift ideas. But if you love handmade ideas, I’m also your gal. {Shocker, I know.} So if you’re facing snow days ahead, a slower weekend, or just in the mood to create… I’ve rounded up 20 handmade Valentine’s ideas to make now!
1. Handmade Puzzles
If you’re feeling super crafty, our kids adore these heart puzzles.
2. Stained glass cookies + free printables
You can really apply these to any holiday, but we say the pairing is too cute to pass up.
Stained glass cookie recipe + free printables, here!
OR pair them with these tags with handmade lollipops for the same effect.
3. Valentine’s Party
Throw a cute little impromptu party: Check out these free Valentine’s + more free printables with all the details and fun food ideas in the post!
Bonus: while we’re sharing treats, these white chocolate peppermint hearts! {Because I totally forgot about them}
{Speaking of parties… This watercolor version could easily be altered into something fun for the holiday!}
4. Valentine’s Tablescape
We love this idea for a fun setup with easy additions to make it festive. Complete with more free printables, of course.
5. Stained Glass Heart
I couldn’t NOT include this idea, and it’s honestly the perfect season to dive into something new. This cold weather seems to slow down things anyway, so why not make an amazing heart? {If I do say so myself.}
6. Valentine’s Tree
This one is perfect if you didn’t want to take down that tree just yet… or if you have kiddos who leave it up year round. {Side-eyeing my daughter, but I can’t argue with the fact that it makes her room cozy. So up is stays!} There are some easy finds + handmade ideas here.
7. Free Heart Art + Cards
These freebies should make the cutest addition, whether you want to decorate for the season in a simple way, or spread a little love. Check them all out here!
8. XO Art
Use it in a combo with this little Valentine’s freebie. XO for the win!
9. DIY Heart Trays
These fun heart trays we shared last week are an easy project for a rainy afternoon! They’re perfect for gift giving when paired with any of our other printables, and make the best little trays!
10. Picnic Table
Make an easy picnic table and plan a romantic surprise! I guess this one gets me a little because Jamin surprised me in college with a picnic basket, and a picnic. He said sweet things like “One day we’ll take our kids on a picnic with this same basket,” without mentioning the other things like “mortgage” and “dental bills,” so at the time, it was really sweet.
11. Handmade Ribbons
Because everyone loves a little crafting with love. Print them here.
12. Free Valentine’s Cards
Print your own little cards here. They’re just the cutest ever. If we do say so ourselves.
From left to right: big fan, little cupcake, you’re a star, hoot, happy valentines, make my heart race, to the moon, captured my heart, spin me right round
Pssst – You can still get the older versions, here. Mix and match them all!
13. Valentine’s Slime
Valentine’s sparkle slime, and a free printable. Because duh. Slime.
14. You’ve Got The Write Stuff
{A little NKOTB anyone? – ear worm.} For this one, I busted out a few of our washi tape pencils. But it’s a simple little solution for any of you looking for something beyond the candy boundary this year… {write stuff printable, here.}
15. Valentine’s Stationery
This cute little printable: Free Valentine’s art + stationery
16. You Totally Rock
For this one, we took a printable, folded it over, and threw in a little vintage action when it comes to awesome candy. You could always just do pet rocks from your yard for a no-candy option.
We found the little baggies at our local craft store, or you can get some here. + {You totally rock printable, here.} Fun for adults, too.
17. Color Me Rad
For this one, we decided we wanted to melt some crayons. We found this pan a few years ago at Ikea (but found a similar one for you guys, here if you don’t live near an Ikea.)
Combine + place on a foil-lined cooking sheet. Cook on low {275} for 20 minutes or until melted. Then let cool and remove. Get your printable here.
18. You Have my Heart
Almost anything from around your home will do. Straws, sticks, tape, glitter, felt, twine, feathers, construction paper… you name it. The world is your arrow oyster. A cute little something to make with your kiddos. {You Have My Heart printable here}. Because nothing beats crafting in your pajamas with a little chocolate.
19. Banner Day
And for a fun project for anyone, whether it’s a happy at their desk or something to adorn your children’s spaces: with a little printable to go with it, here. {Every day is a banner day with you.}
20. Handmade Earrings
Again, another candy-free option with fun printables, here.
And that wraps up just a few of our favorite ideas! What are some of your fave handmade projects to take on? We’d love to hear. Have an inspired day!
