Remember this project we started this spring? We were finally able to photograph it this past week! Because of all things covid, items on backorder and timeframes have become a bit of a challenge, but we’re here to rise to said challenge. And we’re thrilled to show you the after today!
If you love a good before and after, you’ve come to the right place. They’re our very favorites, too.
Note: We weren’t even sure what to call this one…I think we’ve run out of titles. So we went with “drastic kitchen remodel” ::cue shrugging woman emoji:: We tried.
This house still had the original 1970’s something interior, and was really ready for an update. Our sweet client was ready, too.
This might be one of our most satisfying projects to date.
If everything before was a little bit repressing, this new light and bright interior is such a game changer… it was a pleasure to bring it all to life.
Just this view alone is so drastic! We love the huge change knocking down the walls and bringing in some fresh to the space did for everything.
{Please note: A few of the links below are affiliate links ;}}
Paint:
We loved softening everything up with a nice classic Sherwin Williams Dift of Mist.
Changing up things made a big difference, but we were happy to give her a simple backdrop for a new soothing palette of sorts.
Tile: We adore this new look from Jeffrey Court.
I was thrilled when she was thrilled, so we can’t wait to see how much it does for her fun new space. We love it so much, we’re using it in our new cabana. Stay tuned. ;}
She now has plenty of room for all things entertaining, and bringing the space to reflect her. She wasn’t afraid of warmer tones, and we loved playing with that with her, and bringing it all together in her interior. Our client works at home, so on the other side of that wall, she redid her office as well, with new floors and a fresh coat of paint. That way it made the entire space cohesive and fun for her.
We designed an island that allowed for room to tuck barstools in when not in use.
And she went with a beautiful, simple quartzite to add another layer of sheen to the space that we absolutely love.
The flooring is actually luxury vinyl, which we couldn’t recommend more for all things pets and wear and tear. We live with hardwood, and there isn’t a huge difference in the way that it feels under foot. But the hold up is totally worth it. They’ve come a very long way in all their design options, and we love what they have to offer.
Bye, brown paneling that was older than me.
Hello beautiful new sitting space.
One of the features that we adored about her existing kitchen and an older home, is his amazing picture window. They’re hard to come by now, and we brought it to life with a fresh coat of paint. We also brought it front and center with a new dining set, which opened up her hosting possibilities in a whole new way.
A new dining area makes it fun for her to host, and we have all those details below with all things dressed up table.
Lights:
We adored sprucing up the open space with all things Kichler.
We paired her open room with recessed lights and some great options from their collection.
She loved that she was able to add a ceiling fan. To be honest, I’ve never loved ceiling fan options until Kichler came into our lives. Now I’m a little obsessed with all the fun modern looks they have to offer. It’s not your parent’s 1980 ceiling fan, y’all.
These are some of our favorites, the Devin Pendant for plenty of extra lighting and lots of amazing character. We love that it kept the eyeline open for the kitchen and all things beautiful elements.
The brass is such a great touch.
We also pulled it together with their Morrigan chandelier, and it did a great job anchoring the space. Rectangular is a great option for all things tables right now, and it truly brought the space to life.
This angle was a game changer in opening up those walls. Her home still has three bedrooms, and office and an upstairs, so I wouldn’t say we went all open concept with everything. This was a nice way to open up her spaces, and bring in more character to her main living space without eliminating everything.
We’re obsessed with this view.
Table + chairs:
We loved updating her dining furniture as well, for a beautiful classic look. She can extend it with a leaf for more to gather, when she hosts friends and family.
Table + chairs + end chairs
Tablescape:
We kept it simple with these grey plates + paired them with these fun small ones.
Then we added some color with these cloth napkins, colorful glasses + awesome table runner.
Of course any time we can add flowers… we love all the little colorful details.
Can we just have another moment for that backsplash through?
I could eat that tile.
Window shades:
All of her windows were updated with window shades from the amazing from Select Blinds for a real game changer with the light flow and feel of the space.
They bring such a nice element to all the windows!
Fixtures:
These are a part of the fabulous Brizo collection.
We adore the fun that brass adds to the entire design.
The Artesso in luxe gold for the single handle pull down faucet was a great fit for her every day needs.
And the Artesso wall mount pot filler was the perfect touch for over the stove.
Hardware:
The Octo Pull from D. Lawless was the perfect accent to the space. We also loved pairing their matching knobs for a flawless look.
We’ve used D.Lawless for years, and adore their options and prices. Be sure to check them out for all of your hardware searches! So many great options.
Living Room Furniture:
Sofa: The beautiful sofa is from La-Z-Boy, and it’s the Leighton. They always have gorgeous pieces and we adore their customizable options!
Side chairs: Are from Wayfair and can be found here – We love their soft texture and cushy seat. The fufting added a nice extra touch.
Tables: Metallic, side tables + coffee table all brought in a different element and pulled it together in such a fun way!
Rug: from here – brought in so many gorgeous hues!
Accessories: gold tray, orange pillows, blue stripe, geometric pillows in orange, lamps + shades
Fireplace:
We loved refinishing her old fireplace with a fresh look, in a mortar rub.
We also had a new mantel built just for her, and changed the location of her TV to free up some much needed space, and keep it open.
Hall tree + baskets:
We added a hall tree + baskets for a little extra storage with all things bags, shoes, etc.
We built on a small closet to the right of her kitchen area, so that she has easy access to all things laundry.
We love the special knobs from Wayfair for a pretty touch!
More accessories:
barstools, for a comfy place to sit!
pitcher, bowls, mastering the art of french cooking, entryway rug, joy of cooking
And with that, we happily wrap up this project!

Iām wondering about the source for the trunk coffee table in front of the fireplace.
Hi! It’s linked above, but I know this post is long. You can find it here
Wow, that is just fabulous! Love the airy, light-filled, coziness of it all. Great job!
Thank you so much Michelle! Excited to give our client a new space ;}
WOW! That’s all I can say! Its so open and bright..very nice!
Thank you! This one was especially satisfying ;}
Gorgeous. What paint colour is the island?
Hey Anne! Thank you so much! This was a color available through the cabinet company with pre-finished cabinets. I would say that it was very close to SW homburg Gray. I hope that helps!
Beautiful space! Can you give the source for the flooring?
Hey! It’s Mohawk Vinyl – I hope that helps ;}
Love everything! Can you tell me the source for the flower painting above the sofa? Love the vibrancy in it.
How did you go about the pantry in your new kitchen?
Love this! What color are the cabinets?
Thanks so much Stephanie! Because these are a national brand of cabinetry finished in-house, they’re just custom to the cabinet company. It’s not a standard paint color. ;} Thanks so much!
Hi! Totally in love with the transformation, its stunning! You said the floors were Mohawk, what color/name of the flooring?
