Frogtape® is literally a household name in our home. One of our kiddos was working on a school project the other afternoon, and needed something to work with. Guess what the solution was?
Got a project? Just call us Oprah.
We’ve shared our uses for this fabulous product in the past, but today, with the cabana ALMOST finished {SO CLOSE!} we thought we’d share a few more ideas that are our very fave. We started on this not-so-little undertaking in late July, so while we’re definitely ready for it to be over with, we’ve actually worked pretty quickly. {Pssst… if you’d like some more project ideas, stay tuned because we’ve linked our fave Frogtape® projects below!}
These are just a few of the ways that Frogtape® comes in handy with all things construction…
Shout out to Jeffrey Court for this beautiful tile + Kichler Lighting for the amazing lights + fan
+ Sherwin Williams for the beautiful paint. We can’t wait to show you the finished product!
1. Use Frogtape® in your planning
From TVs, to mantels and a little bit of everything in between, we use Frogtape® all the time to help with design concepts, sizes and more. Cabinetry layout with clients to help with planning, choosing the perfect sized furniture, and even rugs… it always helps to eye it visually, and translate your concept from paper to reality.
You can even see more ways we’ve used it, here. It’s a flawless way to place the tape and help communicate a design.
We’re tweaking our bar design right now, with shelving over this butcher’s block area. How the shelving works alongside the TV placement is important for a fun, final design. What are we using? Frogtape®! And it’s perfect. I had a diagram of how I wanted it to look, but sometimes, designs evolve. So it was great to communicate this way before it was built.
2. Use Frogtape® in your painting
I know you’re going to be all, duh, Ashley. We know. That’s what Frogtape® is for. But we use it all the time, and not just for those floor-to-baseboard options.
Exhibit A: Those gloriously striped ceilings.
So what if I was losing my body weight via sweat in the August hurricane humidity? There’s nothing more satisfying than removing that tape for those fun, sharp lines. They truly made my stripes a breeze to work with, and it was easier than you’d think to paint so many fun colors. We love the stripes!
note that paint in mah hair
Exhibit B: Protecting electrical outlets
From light switches to plugs, we were able to do our electrical, and then spray the inside of the cabana with our sprayer for a quick coat of white {and save hours of time}. Frogtape® made it all possible, because tada! It’s all safer with their tape!
Exhibit C: All the gloriously miscellaneous things
I could theoretically talk all day a-la all the inventive ways we’ve used Frogtape® in our cabana project. Here are a few more little things that we’ve worked on, and using this tape made it a breeze! These are going in the Cabana for some fun decor.
I was on a tight deadline for this fun oil painting with another post, but knew I wanted them framed. So I just taped off the frame to give the oil paint time to dry in the meantime. I use it more often than not with other art projects and it’s so versatile.
We pulled it away, and… The perfect frame.
And for Carl’s Makeover, {say it like The Walking Dead = CORAL} this may seem so simple but I needed to preserve his eyeball. So creepy or not, it’s another great way to cover anything you don’t want painted for in the meantime! Even the small things. PS. No worries, because this sailfish is easily from 1980 something and just old molded plastic. He had a lot of gross scratches, and it was time for a new look.
I think I’ll save Carl’s new colors for the big reveal, so stay tuned! He’s so fun now.
3. Use Frogtape® to help with tile placement
Yep. It basically held the tile to the little bar area until it dried. This allowed us to work the tiny ones into place without slipping. Oh, and bonus points if you can see how we also used it to protect our butcher’s block bar.
And Carl’s before. {It’s not his best angle.}
4. Use Frogtape® to help with just about anything
When pulling the electrical {it wasn’t live, btw} to the main cabana, this helped keep smooth where we had tied it together. This helped pull the new wire through the tubing and all the way to the cabana, then we removed it to properly install. It helped keep everything in check.
It may seem silly, but you’ll be amazed at how many uses you can find for Frogtape® in any project! From painting to planning to keeping things in place, the possibilities are kind of endless, and I can honestly say, we couldn’t have pulled this off without Frogtape’s help! We’re loving the way it’s looking so far.
Stay tuned for the reveal.
